Drove through town and had been recommended Red's by a local. Got 2 burgers, one with fries and a drink. Fries were solid, though not worth the additional cost (went from $18 to $24 with one basket.) Girl at the front wasn't particularly friendly or otherwise, and didn't seem to register that I asked for the burger to be cooked medium. Granted, there seemed to be a hubbub going on with orders over the phone, so could've been a stressful time for her, and I didn't press it.
I tried the $10 burger with grilled onions, lettuce, some sauce and cheese, while my wife got a regular burger with fries/drink. Both burgers were cooked well-done, so slightly chewy even, and appeared to be ~1/3#. I think I'd prefer the regular flavor-wise, but it was really negligible.
Wait was around 17 minutes from ordering to receiving. It seemed a busy Saturday for them, as a line of about 7-10 formed after we ordered, so a caveat that service times and quality may be down relative to easier times is fair.
Overall, for the price and wait time and size and taste, I wouldn't say it was worth it. Maybe I was spoiled by JC Burgers in North DFW- similar price they had 1/2# burgers cooked medium and tasty. But comparing to DFW might not be fair. The building is cute though, and perhaps at a different time of day the quality is improved. Plus I didn't try their drinks, shakes or otherwise, so might be some good there.
If I were meeting someone in Azle, I might give their regular cheeseburger another shot, and really emphasize the...
Read moreMe and my family have lived in Azle for 3 years and we have never tried reds until tonight… and let me just start by saying the customer service was aweful very rude and dry personalities. Our food was disappointing my Philly came out cold and barley any meat my side was the onion strings and they were cold very greasy and crumbs like they were the bottom of the barrel I asked to change them for sweet potatoes fries I was told I’d have to pay for them instead of switching them out even after I told them they were cold and greasy and nasty the lady just looked at me and said let me go see then never came back my husband ordered the reds basket and it was dry and the same size as the kids meal burgers he also added bacon and they didn’t add it we had to ask for it my kids got the kids quesadilla and added chicken it was over loaded with cheese and very little chickens which we paid and xtra $3 for per kids quesadilla. We asked for ranch never got it had to go back up to counter to ask again and only gave us 2 when we had a party of 6 at our tables it’s way over priced and zero customer service we will never be back definitely wouldn’t recommend this place...
Read moreNew to town and wanted to try a new burger restaurant.
We called in our order and was told it would quickly be ready. I rushed up there.
I walked in to a cute, cozy little restaurant. As i made my way through many tables, i was greeted by the waiting staff at the counter in the back. I told them of my togo order. I was handed cups (4), which i began to fill with various drinks on fountain. As i tried to balance the drinks in my arms, i was told my food was ready. I set down my drinks and the very friendly staff member informed me they didnt have any drink holders, as she also apologized. I held the food and balanced all the drinks as i walked to the door. Luckily, being in a small town, there is always a polite person nearby ready to open a door.
At home i served the burger combos to my family. The burgers were tasty and the fries were yummy. I could eat there again, but i wouldnt describe it as crave-able.
There are other places in town with great burgers that i would probably go to first. The environment was nice, the staff very friendly and the food was good. Its a nice hometown restaurant, but not worth...
