Burger King — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I thought I loved everything about Bakersfield. I was having such a wonderful trip until my cousin-in-law brought us here. I like Burger King don't get me wrong.

It was just a small problem that made me decide to give them a bad review. I hate to be the bad guy, but they really need to do something.

We pulled up on the drive-thru and there was ONLY three cars ahead of us. That wasn't bad at all so we stayed. The first car was at the speaker and she didn't have any cars in front of her.

She took about 20 minutes ordering her food at the speaker. Okay, that was her fault not burger king's, but then she goes to the window.

We were all excited that she finally went to the window. Well, let me just say it was almost the same. It was another 20 minutes. There was a car next to her that was having a conversation with her while she was waiting for her food.

That happened before she went to the window too. She was driving and stopped before getting to the window because this man pulled to the side and was talking to her. He just followed her to the window. It made the line slower.

When she was at the window we didn't see them hand out her food. After about 20 minutes of waiting in the drive-thru we noticed they handed over her food.

If she had a huge order I don't see why they didn't tell her to pull over or park and they'll take the food to her. I see every fast food restaurant do this when one person is holding up the line.

When we finally got to the window they handed us our ice cream and didn't bother to apologize for the 40 minute wait.

I haven’t had a Whopper in over 26 years. My mom use to work there and that’s all we ate for a long time. ( Single mom with two kids) Me and my wife stopped in because we had the longest argument about where to eat…( you pick no you pick argument). In the end we said the first place we see we will stop and eat. When we both saw Burger King we were like dang that sucks. Anyway we stopped and both got a whopper with cheese and drove off all quiet…..lol got home and sat down to eat. Now I was taken back, the whopper I knew was always flat and never had fresh vegetables and the bread looked ran over. This time around, after all these years it felt like I got something new. The secret sauce brought back memories of lunch and dinner of my child hood but the presentation was on point. Bread wasn’t flat and the vegetables were crispy…. I told my wife that the whopper was back on the menu. Good job Burger King and the employees that prepared our post argument meal.

One year update…... I stop to dine in the this particular Burger King because my son was board and there was a play ground. We went inside and, ordered our food and went to the play area. First thing I saw was there was food on the floor, tables and in and around the play area. I like to look at the play area before my kids go in and it was all bad. Everything was sticky and there was food everywhere. It hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. When food has dust on it you can’t argue it just happened. If you come here with your kids please...

TLDR; Surprisingly good, not perfect. Spicy sandwich was really flavorful. 4/5

Tried the new Ch'King (oh god that name) original and spicy. The King's entry into the chicken sandwich wars was pretty surprising for hitting all the same notes as the competition: Bun, sauce, pickles, chicken.

It's advertised as hand breaded and I believe it with how much CRUNCH this thing has. Weirdly it's... Too breaded? Parts of it was more bread than chicken which is a shame because the size of the sandwich itself felt lesser than the others, so I can't help but wonder how much is actually chicken. The sauce was interesting, added a lot and the pickles were inoffensive.

The spicy chicken sandwich has all the same notes as the original above but is drenched in this flavorful and warm coat of sauce that just adds SO much. It's not too hot compared to other spicy chickens I've tried, but the flavor was so much better than the others.

Both were good for the price of $4.99, and the spicy holds a special spot in my regular BK order from now on. Again though,...
