05/21/2023 UPDATE: the quality in food has gone down and so has the service. The meats were tough, dry, overcooked, and had a ton of gristle. We had a plate stacked high of inedible meats. The lobster bisque recipe changed for the worst but we were told it would return to the old tasty recipe. It wasn’t creamy like before and tasted like flour with barely any lobster. Our little cheesy breads were dense, over baked yet underbaked in some areas, and flat. We understand that they received a new oven however, these were staples of the restaurant!
As for the service, we had used plates all over our table. Usually, we are often asked if plates could be cleared. It was unprofessional of the staff to gather in the corner to talk to each other for long periods of time. I had to grab our waiter to ask for what we needed.
We were not told we would be charged for premium seating with an infant. Management usually comes to see how our experience is and ask for feedback. However, I had to request to see one today. Management was able to take off one Rodizio from our bill and apologized. Our bill would have been over $300 with 4 adults and 2 children. The espresso martini was the ONLY thing I enjoyed.
This used to be our go to restaurant for special occasions and cravings. However, I was very disappointed and embarrassed taking guests here today. This was unacceptable in all areas. For the price, quality, experience and expectation…. sadly, we will NOT be back.
07/30/2022- Had a great time here! Customer service was friendly while constantly checking on us. The food was delicious. Meats came out perfectly seasoned and juicy. Some were slightly over cooked but still delicious. My favorite was the ribeye cut. The salad bar was great in selections for vegetables, salads, and soup. Try the slices of baguettes! The only cons were that our plantains were dry and lacked flavor. The shrimp cocktail from the salad bar was a bit overcooked. Overall, I had a great experience and...
Read moreUpdate: Flame and Fire has move past the growing pains and has got their flow down. It is a true pleasure and feel spoiled each time we visit. Be sure to ask for Alex. He is top notch!! He’s personable, friendly, professional, and a true joy to deal with.
I have very mixed feelings about my experience at Flame and Fire. My family and I have visited the Roseville location; and they run a well-oiled machine that left us nothing short of impressed.
When I learned of a location opening in Bakersfield, I was ecstatic!!
My family and I made a reservation for the second week after grand opening. I simply could not wait.
Upon arrival for our reservation, there was no table for my family. Two tables had to be joined in the main dining room very close to another large table, and was shuffled a bit to be accommodated. It’s no big deal, as I expected some growing pains for the company.
Our waitress was very polite, and professional. She forgot about us a couple times, but it is nothing to fret about. The salad bar was amazing! The options were plentiful; but I don’t know what the deal was with the chimichurry, I feel like I could have made it at home and snuck some in. Once we placed our cards to green; we waited some time to have the gauchos come table side. The sausage cut my gums it was so hard. The tritip was over salted, and we must have waited 45 minutes after asking for ribeye. The gauchos forgot about us a few times after the initial wait or were just too busy with other tables. Nonetheless, they were friendly, polite, and professional.
I want to give it a second chance soon, but I don’t know when those growing pains will be over. I felt like the sizeable tab was a waste of money and would have rather arranged to visit the...
Read moreMy mother’s 65th birthday was approaching, and I was so excited for her to experience the service and ambiance of this establishment. She is the queen of my life and this was something new for her to try. It was such a beautiful dinner with exceptional service. However (A very, very big HOWEVER!), the quality of the food did NOT meet the same expectations. I was so sad after ending the dinner. There were a total of 4 of us (My mom, my brother, my sister, and myself), and we all ordered the Rodizio, which included the rounds of meats coming to the table and the market table (buffet). Every piece of meat was EXTREMELY salty! Salty to the point that it was inedible. In effort to not damper the mood of such an important night, we toughed it out and stayed. We tried the market table, and it was subpar. The best things that we had were the water and cocktail shrimp. The owners made a visit to our table and were very nice, but we were surprised when mentioning to one of them that the meat was very salty, he responded that he preferred it that way. He’d rather them be heavy handed with the salt vs. not salting it enough to enhance the meat. The problem is that, the meat was ALL salt, and it damaged the opportunity to enjoy the meat. I left shamed for suggesting this place for my mothers birthday and wish we would have chosen elsewhere. If you must try for yourselves, I would recommend the lunch hour. We left the establishment after spending about $300 ($70 per person), and were still hungry and craving a better dining experience. We went to Hodel’s the next day and left there extremely satisfied with the...
