Frosty Drive In — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I just left Frosty Freeze🥺, I was in a good mood, celebrating my 66 birthday on July 23rd. So when I arrived, there were 4 people standing outside so I chose to go inside being hot and all. So the young girl was giving the food to the people from outside, I patiently waited. She said I'll be with you in just a moment, I said, you're really busy today huh? Just small talk, she said yeah. I ordered #8 Pastrami burger. She was placing my order as a combo and I said not a combo just a sandwich and a large half and half cone, but I want that to go! I'm eating the sandwich here. She said ok! Mine you....it's only me and her inside at the time no one else. I left to go to my car and get my phone, had a seat. Then, 6 people showed up, she says, Pastrami sandwich, I looked and omg she has the large cone and my sandwich in a bag. I said, nicely, I ordered the cone to go!she said to me I don't have to be rude! I said rude? You have my order wrong and you saying I am rude. She literally walked away to the back saying I was rude to her, and giving her attitude 🫨😒I was only explaining to her that I can't eat a sandwich and cone at the same time. The mother appeared to be, came out yelling to not deal with me. The young girl stated that she was wrong but! O well! She said, and so what!!! Where's customer service? So I said just hand me my money I'll leave. She real hard put my money on the counter and I laid the large ice cream down, 2 big to sit up, the girl said, ewwwww I would have jumped over this counter, & would have threw it in her face! I said wow, really I will sued you too. She said, I know that's why I didn't little girl... "really" am 65 yrs of age. Who would expect this to go on in the place I loved. All I can do is pray and cry. Lord what did I do wrong? The woman says, she's a little girl and it's busy in here! I said, But, there was no one in here but myself and her.

Jesus help me! This is what we're dealing with in this world as a person and a senior. And they were yelling at me, 🥺😵‍💫literally! I never raised my voice until the end because, they kept yelling at me! I will NEVER purchase food from there EVER AGAIN. Lord Vengeance is Yours you shall repay....if there was a rating 0 it would be a 0. The food is good there, but customer service is really bad. I was looking for her to said, I'm so sorry ma'am, let me rid this one and make you another one when you're ready. You think? No not them, they hurt a child of God...wanted to dine was the plan. Just want to say one thing, How can a place have a humungous menu and still do good? The answer simply is Frosty drive in.

I'm very impressed by their fast service, Never seen or heard anyone complain about their food.

I take my hat off first to the staff that never looked mad, frustrated or has an attitude for this location at least. Then I want to salute the owner for keeping it together.

I really recommend it, I did try their food when I use to have an office next door to them, I used to order chilli burgers, I just felt in love with their sandwiches and truth to be told, I tried their strawberry shakes, I can say honestly very delicious, The flavor is always consistent.

This was a fun little blast from the past. I have not been here in over 20 years and was surprised to see it still going strong. The burgers are just as delectably, greasy, messy, and delicious as I remember. Nom nom nom.

The clerk was busy but still managed to smile and be polite. I ordered onion rings but got fries instead...and still ate every one. I ate my burger with a peach shake, my dad had vanilla.

We spent $22 for a burger, fries, and two shakes. The wait was about 7-10 minutes. Service is slower than fast food, but the food is better and the place still has personality. I love old places like this.
