On October 10, 2025, I had the honor of marrying the most incredible woman in the world. We went on a short honeymoon. Today, October 15, is my now-wife's birthday. On the way home, we decided to stop in this beautiful city. I chose your restaurant for my wife's first birthday as a married couple. I got out quickly and asked before entering if it would be possible to prepare a surprise for her birthday. (She doesn't like to prepare anything.) We ate. The food was delicious, everything was good. During the meal, we saw four tables singing Happy Birthday to her. And she was all, "Oh, how embarrassing... blah blah blah." I was all happy because, without her knowing, it was her turn... turns out, no, nothing ever arrived. Obviously, I wanted to go and remember (they had already given me the bill), and they were in a hurry to get me to pay. I hadn't even finished and not only had they already brought the bill, but she even came back to insist on paying. And that's when the surprise was ruined. I had to tell her I was going to order it, and as expected, she didn't want to. She got mad at me, and we argued. It was a totally unnecessary awkward moment. However, I didn't say anything. I paid, left a tip, and headed for the exit. Where I ran into the lady at the entrance I'd spoken to. I very politely told her, "I'm done, no problem, but next time, try to be more attentive to these things so they don't happen to someone else." Instead of acknowledging that at least the night was ruined for me, she got uncomfortable, a little annoyed, and told me it wasn't my fault. She started pointing fingers at whoever was to blame. In the end, it didn't matter if it was her, the waiter, or whoever else. The menu is geared toward family stories for each dish. I found it a bit ironic, and that's why I wanted to share my story at her restaurant. Not as pretty as the one you describe on your menu, but real. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT FOR OCCASIONS THAT REQUIRE GOOD SERVICE. I wouldn't eat there again; perhaps I would order takeout. Greetings, and again, I should be more careful with these things. Deep down, I know my wife, and it must have felt bad to sing Happy Birthday to everyone, and she wouldn't receive the...
Read moreThis was my first time back to Frugatti’s in over 9 years or so. And I have to say I was very impressed. First off I will start with the parking lot. There is plenty of space and design is set up with plenty of lighting for lower light settings. My first glance at the new building is the size compared to the last location. I love the color scheme and painted portraits on the outside.
As you get ready to enter the building you are greeted by this beautiful covered seating encloser as you walk through two iron gates. As I walked in the ceiling was my main focal point because it's the center point for the whole environment around it. It complements the pictures and portraits as well the beautifully crafted grape vine iron work. I was really taken back at the craftsmanship and precise skill put into this place.
Ok, now to the food I ordered the Top Sirloin steak medium with asparagus, mashed potatoes and minestrone soup. The soup was sufficient for the portion size, the flavor was mild but in a very good way. The tomatoes provided a complementary acidic flavor settled by the beans and pasta. One thing I would change with the soup is eliminate the added cheese and croutons.
I will cover the asparagus and mashed potatoes. Of course you can mess up vegetables but Frugattis definitely hit the spot of perfection on this with both side. The asparagus was fresh, delightfully crunchy, with a sweet n tart flavor. The mashed potatoes were not overly dense and seasoned perfectly. I like how they kept the skins to the Red potatoes in the mash, this added additional texture.
The Top Sirloin Steak!! Hmm where to start with this? I could easily just say perfect 💯 but I'm not that kind of reviewer. The steak had a nice garlic sear to the outside with a beautiful butter drizzle to enhance the garlic. The cut was full, juicy and moist the the feel. The steak knife cut with ease and the Red meat fibers glowed and oozed juice Mmmm. I did not add any additional seasoning to the steak as it was not needed. The texture was mere perfection as it just melted like butter with every bite. Before I knew it the steak was fully consumed.
I want to thank the Frugattis team for making our Anniversary lunch...
Read moreWe are regular from the old location, and the service we had today at the new location was disappointing to the point that we didn’t get to enjoy our food as we normally would.
Our server Desiree L. was just bad almost rude in my opinion, she made us feel as if” we were bordering her” from the start. Worst part is it did Not get better, I considered leaving after placing our ourders, but kid really wanted his pasta. She was always in a rush and just forgot about us. Appetizer came out before drinks, that says how bad thing's kicked off, not to mention it took her for ever to come and greet us and take our drinks order. A very long time, and she only stoped because my husband stopped her after at least 15min. of us just sitting there waiting on our server. She did served that entire section after all, maybe she didn’t know she had that full section from the start, I have no idea what he’s problem was. Maybe she judged us by every day relaxed clothing.
Complete disappointment of a server. I hope that’s not her personality cuse that’s just a rude, unapproachable person, that shouldn’t be in the customer service industry.
Appetizer came out cold. Main dishes hot, as should be. But husband’s steak was over cooked and my lasagna had burnt cheese or something that looked like cheese in the middle length wise, not sure how one can explain that.
We ate, paid and left. (Hubby insisted on at least a small tip, I don’t think she deserved any at all) We didn’t send any food back, it was bad enough with the service that it was not worth it trying to fix anything at that point.
We came across a previous great server whom has help us before many times ( he was working at the bar today) we expressed our thoughts of the night. He listened patiently and apologized, and gave us a free dessert to go.
We are not new at frugattis and yes we have our favorite servers, but we have never been treated so poorly at such restaurant
Like I said, we ate, paid and left disappointed. We will be back and I really hope next time is a much...
