Visiting around Dia de Los Muertos for their Pan de Muerto, we were not impressed with it or the other Pan Dulce and cookies we got. I found the flavor of everything to be average or bland and not any better than the panaderias around town. The Pan de muerto was lacking traditional anise and orange flavoring and just tasted like white bread with sugar - total disappointment. The wedding cookies were devoid of any flavor besides baked "masa" The donuts were okay, but not any better than grocery store donuts (which are cheaper) The tortillas were the best thing we got ($3 for a dozen is a decent price) and the empanada de manzana was also enjoyable. While we were being helped to place our order, a group of ladies in catrin/calavera makeup and outfits came in and rudely grabbed the attention of the lady helping us to take several pictures of their group - very annoying and unprofessional service. I think one of them worked there so felt her pictures and time were more important than allowing the employee to assist...

My 85 year mother and I went to this location with one of her Best friends from her apartments last week the donuts were very good. I took my mother there this morning the ladies were very rude. They ignored my mother and me. This racism has to stop because we are all God's children. Why so much hate towards black people why? My best friend's are Spanish and my mother has good Spanish friends to we are family. I remember San Antonio from the 70's and 80's everybody got along. San Antonio today is nothing but a bunch of racist people. We lived all over the world including Central America. San Antonio needs a lot prayer. We will not be going into this bakery anymore. Maybe you need to put a sign of what customers you want coming in there. We were going to see if they cater because we have a big event coming up next week oops you just lost some money !!!! Everyone stay bless don't hate šŸ™We shouldn't be against each other! We should be getting along ! My mother calls bing in Spanish...

I love this place! It’s small & very cute. The customer service is top notch! These women that have helped me have always been amazing! (Spanish speakers) but they also do their best to communicate in English if need be. The last time I went, I ordered a good amount of pan dulce, along with a few of the chicken salad combos & kolaches. I had a lot to carry & the ladies helped me out to my car. It was the sweetest thing ever. I really appreciated it. I always make sure to tip them for being so kind & attentive. Not to mention, everything I’ve tried from there is delicious! The conchas & donuts are so soft & the kolaches are sooooo flavorful, kolaches are my favorite thing here. The carne guisada taco is really flavorful as well, a tad messy (just have a napkin!), they’re great :) thank y’all for always being wonderful! Edit: tried more tacos, all so flavorful! We tried the chorizo con huevo, papa con huevo & had the carne guisada again, did...

smells great in there, probably should learn Spanish, but it honestly didn't look like any of the customers felt comfortable being served. The bean and cheese taco I got was miserable though. I really truly recommend going anywhere else for a taco, I got gross crusty beans that seemed to have sat over night or something, and the tortillas tasted almost rubbery. Definitely not fresh for 8am tacos, such a disappointment.

I rate it a 4 because I’ve had better, but a four for being great! I like their Conchas because they were fluffy and thin. Their Pumpkin Turnovers were also very tasty and had the right amount of sugar and enough pumpkin unlike some that never have enough and forces us to waste the bread. I found out this place also has Barbacoa and Menudo, but I didn’t try it. I can’t wait to try those two items on my next stop!
