Clancy's Irish Pub & Butcher — Restaurant in Ballwin

Before we sat ourselves (yes, there is NO hostess), I made a trip to the restroom. They were out of soap and the trash was overflowing. Our table was sticky and had no place settings. We ordered our drinks from the BUSBOY, and after about 10 min. that same busboy came back to tell us they do not carry Brandy ( my brother ordered a Manhattan!) Apparently, they have never stocked Brandy, as the waitress, slash OWNER finally appeared to tell us! We waited about 55 minutes for our meal. When we thought it was about to be delivered, the BUSBOY came to tell us that the Corned Beef my brother ordered was OUT, as in, DON'T HAVE at this Irish Pub. Are you kidding me? That is something you let a customer know when they order!! Not 55 minutes into WAITING! When I asked to speak to a manager, as we had to walk to the counter to get our own silverware, and stop a passing by waitress to order a drink, our waitress said "Ma'am, what is it you need because I AM the manager and OWNER." No words for this woman! How the hell are you still in business?? I paid my bar tab and walked out before my burger was served as we had waited over 1 1/2 hours by this time. My wife and have lived here for years, but had never been to this location. The place is very LOUD on the inside. We were told to find our own seats. Once we sat down, someone brought some menus over to us almost immediately. It look a bit for someone to then check back with our table to get drinks. During that time, looking at the handwritten prices on the menu, they appeared high for the food and other locations around. Anyway, we had not eaten there before, so we decided to go ahead and try. We both ordered a 6oz burger. When the burgers came out, they were on french bread, which I found odd. The burgers were DRENCHED in grease. I had what I thought were onion rings, but there were just a greasy mess of onion straws...so greasy nasty, I couldn't even eat them. I made sure to hold over my plate to not drip any on me. My wife took two bites and quit. Even her french fries were all greasy and soggy.

By the prices of the rest of the menu, I doubt I try anything again. It's pretty hard to mess...

I don't understand how this place was so busy last night when we went. The food was abysmal. I ordered fish and chips and the fish was as thin as my knife and was covered in about an inch of batter. The fries were worse than fast food. My husband got the corn beef and cabbage and it was just boiled lunch meat.

Then we had to wait forever for our bill. When we finally gave the server our card they came back with the wrong credit card. Turns out they charged us for a different tables meal and had charged them for ours and given them our credit card. So we now have to watch our charges to make sure the first charge actually gets reversed.
