I never rate restaurants, but felt the need to share my experience. The food was delicious I’ll have to admit, but I had some of the weirdest and worst service in my entire life. A friend and I went there together and throughout the entire meal had two different servers waiting on us as what I can only describe as “tag teaming” our table. We would tell one an order and the other bring it/get the order completely wrong. I asked for a split check, box, one more shot, and to make sure the queso I ordered that never came was off the check. The other server brings two shots and walks away. No box. No check. We get ignored for about 20 more minutes until my friend made eye contact with the older server at the bar. He asks for the check and the guy makes a “more shots signal”... !? When we finally get the check it was way more than it should have been even with the price raise they’ve posted about. The waiter basically tries to take money out of my hand as I’m telling him the bill needs to be split. Somehow my friend who only had a margarita and one cheap shot(that he didn’t order) totaled 16 bucks. Mine was 46 and I handed him 60 and told him to bring me back 5 dollars. He proceeds to bring back a ten and four ones and tried to take the 10 out of my hand. I’ve never had a server try to “push” a tip before especially when he didn’t deserve it. It’s just the principal. I made change myself and he flipped his head impatiently like I was taking up his time. And then proceeded to walk to the bar complaining about the 1 dollar I didn’t give him....
Read moreLast year I was in town for a few months due to a family emergency. I happened upon Tequila Grill and was pleasantly surprised. After living in LA for years, finding quality Mexican food in the Tri-State was not easily done. I was thoroughly impressed with the drinks and barbacoa quesadilla and enjoyed it several times. Toward the end of my time in Kentucky, I went for one last meal. I ordered a side of black beans, and was shocked at how much higher by total was. Come to find out the beans were 9 bucks. For beans. One of the highest margin dishes. I've never paid that much for a side of beans in CA or AK (where I now live - and neither places are cheap). That kind of soured me, but I thought I'd try them again on my first day back in town.
Nope.
The meat in the quesadilla was in chunks and globs with all kinds of gristle and fatty tissue. I ordered a margarita with Don Julio Blanco and was charged for a margarita plus a shot, which came to 17.99. (This was after I had to go searching for a set-up/napkins/flatware/menu.) I later confirmed with the bartender that their top shelf margarita would've been 13.
I get the restaurant business is hard. I've worked in one. But I hate getting ripped off and overcharged. This was a total disappointment and I will not return, even though I'll be around until...
Read moreI rated this as 5 stars "Excellent service and delicious food" Four years ago. This is no longer the case in April 2025. One of our party never received their food (second time this has happened). Then the menu did not list lettuce on the meal. It stated the vegetables that came on the meal then stated, "served with lettuce, rice and beans." No where does the menu state the lettuce was not on the side like the rice and beans. The server proceeded to yell at me that I should know lettuce always comes on tacos. My husband asked for it to be remade. The server argued further blaming me then stated he was getting the manager. The manager never came but the server brought the menu to "show me how to order" which he stated was at the direction of the manager. He proceeded to further berate me while the next table watched it all. After that he stated the would remake my food "this one time." At this point one of our party still had not received their food. By the time the food for the fourth person arrived as well as the remade food two of the four people in our group were...
