The Human Bean — Restaurant in Barboursville

I really don’t like to give unpleasant reviews but I appreciate knowing what I’m getting into before I spend money and time so I feel I need to share. This may only pertain to “real” coffee drinkers who have experience outside of the area. This is the third time I’ve visited this location. The first one was okay and took care of my desire for a hot mocha but the other two times I asked if they could make a blended mocha with dark chocolate. The first time I wanted white chocolate added in to that and she said she could do it but she would have to make it herself instead of using their granita mix. It was pretty runny for my liking and not much coffee favor but it was doable. The second time I requested the blended mocha with dark chocolate and peanut butter. She said yes, we can do that but then came back and asked me to repeat what I wanted. I did and she said they didn’t have dark chocolate only Hersheys and I told her that was fine. This time it was very runny again, no coffee flavor and also no peanut butter. I don’t understand what the problem it but for $6.50-$7 a drink, they should be much better than they are. I went to human bean literally every single day since they opened up until today. I get a frozen hot coco with 3 shots of espresso and a kids frozen coco for my daughter if she's with me. Well today I noticed the girl tell the other girl that she messed up and forgot to add my espresso the girl literally shrugs and says "oh well" and dumps the espresso in the blender and mixes it up, (this is not how they are made) normally I wouldn't care but this now means my drink won't fit into my cup, and keep in mind the extra shots make this a super expensive drink. so she pours my cup and brings it to me and I say "you know you left half of my espresso in the blender and this is not the correct way to make that anyway right ?" She literally laughs as me and denied it and it really made me upset because this is a 9 dollar drink we are talking about. So I tell her no I'm serious you left half of the best part in the blender and I didn't get all of my espresso this way. Didn't wanna make a big deal so I left. It was my first experience at this franchise. It did not go well. The young girl who helped me was sweet, but that was the height of the positive experienxe. After a solid 10-15 mins, I inquired and discovered my order was lost or incorrectly given to someone else. Once made, it tasted as though none of the ingredients had been added and it was pure, bitter coffee.

They made the order for the lady behind me incorrectly and when asked about it, a young dark haired girl had a real attitude about being questioned over who the coffee was for.
