I was shopping around for a guitar and amp, and my friend was thinking about buying a guitar, so we stopped in to take a look at what they had. The guys at the counter just stared at us as we walked in, and didn’t really acknowledge us. My friend found a guitar he wanted so he went and got a cable from the guys so he could test the guitar out. I also found one I was interested in so I went up to the counter and asked for another cable so I could hook up to an amp and try it out. The dude straight up rolled his eyes at me and very condescendingly said “Look guys this isn’t a place to come and have a jam session” and threw a guitar cable across the counter at me. Immediately turned me off from even wanting to purchase anything from there. We left a few minutes later without even buying so much as a set of new strings. Our son wanted an electric piano for Christmas - a major investment and he's picky (sorry son, but it's true). I had read tons of reviews about the differences in sound quality between Yamaha and Roland and based on that had already talked myself out of a Yamaha product. We were fortunate enough to meet Paul. He demonstrated the DGX670 for us and I was impressed by the sound quality. If there is a night and day difference as reviews lead on, I'm not hearing it. As most frugal shoppers do, we shopped online while at the store and found the stores prices competitive with Amazon. So... units in stock and on hand. My family and I went to Route 60 Music to look at bass guitars for my son. I’d been pricing them on the internet but wanted him to actually hold one before we pulled the trigger. I’m so glad we went. Paul was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about everything. He spent time with us and shared his expertise without ever pressuring us to make a purchase. And I was really surprised and pleased at how reasonably everything was priced. It’s tempting to buy instruments online just to save $30 but it’s worth the few extra dollars to be able to work with someone as great as Paul.
