UPDATE: In all fairness, we loved FlapJacks. We even celebrated there EVERY Christmas Eve morning. Food is good and the waitresses are wonderful! We had one REALLY BAD experience and will not be going back because of it. It could have been so easily resolved. It is a shame.
ORIGINAL: We dine at FlapJacks in Bargersville, IN frequently. We had never ordered takeout but decided to give it a try. We ordered 3 meals. Two of them came with 1/2 order of biscuits & gravy. We spent around $32 (about $10 ea.). My husband picked them up and he verified with the cashier that everything was there. Cashier said there were NO BISCUITS & GRAVY included in our sack. She said it wasn't on our receipt. (IT WAS AS PART OF 2 SUNRISE MEALS). She was new. I do not blame her.
She had my husband pay an additional $11 for TWO MORE 1/2 orders of biscuits & gravy. He waited over 1/2 an hour for these to be made while the rest of our order got COLD. He did not know that the original two 1/2 orders of biscuits & gravy were IN OUR SACK GETTING COLD. I took the receipt back and spoke to an older gentleman, more like argued. I tried to explain the issue but he would not let me talk. Seems he was focused that the name of the breakfast on our receipt was not Biscuits & Gravy. I know but it was part of two of the meals and the cashier said no biscuits and gravy were in the sack & made my husband pay more. He maintained that they did everything correctly - NO APOLOGY AND NO REFUND. He said he would need the extra biscuits & gravy back to refund.
I left and said we would not return after supporting them for years. He was fine with that. When I got home, without the refund we were entitled to (I just asked for the $11 even though the rest was stone cold and not good), my husband took the extra two orders back & spoke to a woman there who apologized. (Wish I could have spoken to her instead of the guy). My husband said we did not even want a refund at this point (even though we returned the food) but we would not be coming back. The guy made us feel like we were trying to get free food. We had been loyal customers, causing no problems for YEARS. It was a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and we will...
Read moreFirst time eating here. Walked in and the place is packed. A good sign of good food.
We were seated promptly surprising us - we was ready to wait.
The waitress comes over, very friendly, gets our drink order and then returns for our order.
I ordered the 4+2 meal and asked for over medium eggs with the explicit instructions no runny whites.
She had an omelet & hash browns
Kid #1 had over hard eggs (yolks broken) bacon and hash browns with 2 pancakes.
Kid #2 had pancakes with hash browns.
When my eggs came out the whites were still liquid, sent back... they came back again with runny whites... this time I said can the cooks cook eggs? The server said nope we just keep sending back until they're right.
I opted for scrambled eggs the third time and they came in one minute. They were cold and had liquid box egg taste. I asked the server if the eggs were cracked eggs... she claimed they were but we knew they wasn't.
The pancakes fill you up so don't opt for the 4 stack, go for the short stack... the flap jacks were okay but over cooked (dry)
My son said his hash browns were burnt. Then we discover the hair on the plate. I small piece.i showed the server and she said oh, I'll get the manager. This was at 11:04am and by 20 after still no manager.
This is when we decided to go to the cashier and explain we have no check. She didn't care about our experience. The waitress finally came with the check, she says oh I had to take the meal off...
I asked about the manager was suppose to visit and she said oh he's in the office. I said to busy to care.
We paid $31 with tip $35 after they removed whatever it was, she didn't give me a food receipt. Then as we were walking out she said oh and I gave you 10% off your entire meal. More lies...
This place might have had a bad day not sure but we won't be back. Really was hopping this place wouldn't be another Lincoln square. However they're no better.
Don't be fooled by the...
Read moreI don't know if this was a one off experience or not, but likely won't come back here. This chain used to be top notch, regardless of the one you went to, which is why we stopped while we were in the neighborhood. Went in for breakfast and was sat quickly despite being prime Sunday morning time. Ordered and has drinks quickly...that is where the good ends. Brought our food and said "your toast is coming", well, didn't order toast, ordered pancakes but ok. Wife's sandwich was made wrong. Sat for 15 minutes and the waitress never came back. Wife finally ate her food wrong because she was hungry. I ordered a skillet which was ok, would have been really good had they not slapped 2 pieces of processed cheese on the top cold and not melted. Dropped the quality down fairly significantly in my book. Fast forward almost 30 minutes now and the waitress bring the check. Sorry, we can't run credit cards right now, hope you can pay cash... Wait, I never got my pancakes or toast or anything, and my wife's food wasn't right, but you never came back. Sorry, let me take the drink off your bill to compensate. What? The drink was fine and right! Happy to pay for that! No offer of let me adjust your meal, do you want them to go or anything, just dropped the check and left. Thankfully we always carry cash so that wasn't the end of the world, and I can completely understand those things happen. I also completely understand "stuff" happens. It was just the way it was communicated to us and the utter lack of customer service or care for their mistakes. I know the service industry is trending this way but doesn't make me want to return to this establishment to spend my hard...
