La Herradura II Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bargersville

I am baffled by this experience. Our server asked my family our drink orders. By the time we were done the server began reciting it back to us and it was completely wrong. He took out a pad of paper and pen, and then asked us to repeat the drink order for the second time so he could write it down. And still he brought me the wrong drink. Then when we told the server our dinner order the same thing happened again. We had to repeat our dinner order because he waited until after our son to begin writing our order down. Once again we had to repeat our order. When our server asked us if we wanted more chips and salsa we said us. Next thing we know our meal is being served, and no chips and salsa. When we didn't see any soft tortillas with our order we asked to have some. After five minutes of waiting we decided to move on and eat our meals without the tortilla shells. We never got the soft tortilla shells. Then out of the blue our server shows up at our table with someone else's order, and was shocked when I proceeded to tell him that we already got our dinner from him fifteen minutes ago. Before he left I asked for the dinner check, and after ten minutes of waiting I asked another server to help us get our dinner check. Within minutes we got it, and the manager stopped by to ask us how the dinner was and I explained everything and she apologized profusely and would address this immediately. The food was average at best. The pork carnitas were wet and had a weird vinegar flavor, the chicken filling (from the enchiladas) was flavorless, and the arrow con pollo was the best meal. It was seasoned well and delicious. Sadly this atrocious service put a damper on our visit that we could not in good conscience give our server a monetary tip. His boss might give him the real tip he needs to do better at his job. I appreciate the second server and manager for their assistance, but nothing can make up for this...

If this was due to staffing or slow service, I wouldn't rate it so low, but this was absolutely due to the worst service and subpar food.

Waiter asked us what we'd like to drink (3 people). Water with lemon, Sprite, unsweetened tea. He then proceeded to stand there looking at me like he was waiting for me to tell him what I wanted to drink. He said "for you?". I repeated our drink order to him. He then gets out a notepad and writes it down, and says to my husband "diet coke, yes?". No! Unsweetened tea. Guess what he brings? Dt Coke. Seemed easily confused.

He brings our chips and cheese, and comes back around to ask if we want more chips and salsa. Yes please, that would be great. He never returns with them.

Food comes out, no flavor at all on my shredded chicken enchiladas even with sauce on top. My husbands carnitas were the strangest thing ever.

We've finished eating and wondered how long it would be before we'd see our waiter again (on a very slow night at this restaurant, he was not only server). He comes around the corner to deliver three more plates of food to our table and looks bewildered that we'd already been served (by him, no less). My husband had to actually say "We've already eaten our meals, you brought them earlier". Can we get our check? Never returns with our check. We eventually flagged down another waitress to see if we could get our check.

Next thing we know, a manager is at our table to apologize for the wait on our check and my husband filled her in on the events of our dinner. She didn't seem to know about the extra food coming out or anything until then.

All around, a very bad experience and food was not worth...

My husband and I stopped here after I continued to say I wanted to stop every time we passed. After our experience, I'm not sure if we'll be back.

First, our waitress (Darling was the name on the receipt) was rude. It took her forever to take our order! When she finally did, it felt like we were bothering her. During my order, I requested some ranch dressing, and she never bought it. My husband had to request it for a second time.

Second, it would be nice if the menu warned the customers of how hot (spicy) the food might be. I'm one that enjoys spicy food, but this was beyond hot. I couldn't even finish my meal.

Third, because the waitress never checked on us, I had to wave her down to get another look at a menu, so I could order dessert. When she came over, to the table she actually asked, with attitude, "do you want something?" Seriously?! Anyway, I ordered my dessert to go and asked that there be no honey. Of course when I opened the box, there was the honey. Ugh! Also, not once did she smile, again making us feel like we were bothering her. Unfortunately, my husband left her a tip that she definitely did not earn! Had I known how much he'd tipped, I would've asked him to leave what she earned...Next to nothing!

The only nice thing I can say is that the restaurant was really clean.

Instead of just saying "sorry", as I saw in other reviews, I'd think the manager would offer some incentive for good...
