The Garden Patch has pretty decent food. Really gives you a feeling of southern home cooked meals, but with that comes other issues. Firstly, you aren't going to be getting many if any healthy options here (but hey it's a buffet what did you expect?). Secondly, this place gets absolutely packed on Sundays with church letting out. Thirdly, there is a bit of an 'old person' feel and sometimes, regrettably, smell that I've found made the food less appetizing. There have also been a few occasions where the meat dishes may contain a bit more than you were bargaining for, once I had a patty covered in gravy and bit into it and it seemed like a rock was there. No big deal though I discarded it and moved on, just want others to be aware of such issues. Hey, if you're a church going old person who loves southern comfort food and doesn't mind a bit of a lack of variety you're really going to enjoy the place! Younger crowds, you should probably avoid this place and head to a cheaper buffet in town. Families this might be a decent place for you to eat, but pay attention to signage in the store, children must be accompanied when getting food to reduce food waste (so if you don't want to deal with that skip out on this...
Read moreBest southern food and value for miles! It is simple, clean, tasty home cooking that will fill you up. Meat, vegetables, salad bar, and drink for only $14 at the time we went. Note to cook: Please hold back on the liquid smoke (not sure exactly what it is) in the peas and beans as it takes over. You can smell the strong hickory flavoring when you go up to the veggie bar. Everything else was spot on. I can see where the chicken breasts may dry out a little under the lights. I had dark meat and a small piece of breast. It was just put out and was perfect. This was our first time here. We cook a lot at home and are picky where we go out. This will definitely be a place we come back to when we do not...
Read moreHadn't been there in a long time and was anxious to go. However, as much good as there was, we were also disappointed. The bad: I had fried pork chop and hamburger steak. My wife had fried chicken and hamburger steak. All of that was cold. The good: everything else was fine. The mashed potatoes were warm, as well as most vegetables. But, warm, not hot. The salad bar is always great. The desserts are always good. In fact, the apple cobbler I had, though the pan was nearly empty, was nice and hot. They are keeping everything clean and good requirements during this pandemic. But when I walk 6 feet from the serving counter to my table, and the main course is not even warm, that's not a...
