I'm in the area in the summertime, and I saw a sign on the road for Chill Hill. Upon further research I read their ciders were really good; they are. Not too heavy with amazing fruit flavors. I got the cherry, blueberry and black eye flavors. The lady that helped with my order was really nice. I will try some different flavors the next time I'm in the area.
Addendum: I have been back a few times to buy ciders for my coworkers to try. The first time back I got more cherry ciders, which were flat. I called the store and they allowed me to exchange them. The exchanged ciders were flat also.
I have never had a problem with the blackberry ciders which are usually on sale for $48/case, so when I was in the area on 10/22/2022, I bought a case, well guess what, these are flat too.
If you are buying ciders to go, have them make them in the store and watch them screw the tops on. I travel 200 miles round trip to get to the area and my experience has been the ciders have been flat everytime except the time she canned and sealed the cans while I watched, which was my first time patronizing this establishment.
Too bad, since the flavors are really good, but they are supposed to be carbonated, which they aren't if you are purchasing precanned ciders.
On a brighter note, the staff was friendly whenever I came...
Read moreRecommended to us as a great stop along the way through town while we were wine tasting in the area. A few unique wines, ciders, and even a slushie. Our issues came with staff and locals. Roughly 3-4 couples enjoyed their tastings, but a small group sat along the bar just blaring cellphone music. It went on for a while, no interruption from the staff, and it was pretty clear the other private couples were also annoyed. As we were going to just cash out and head to the next spot on the list, the wifi crashed and we were unable to pay for a bit, leaving us to sit through the local music jam. We patiently waited, wifi came back on to pay, but even on the way out of the tasting room area, the local group at the bar made it clear to us "see you later!" Even with the owners "sister" working, it felt like we were pushed out of the tasting early to locals enjoying their own time.
I'd pass on this spot and enjoy your time and money...
Read moreAs someone who loves cider, I was very excited to discover Chill Hill after visiting Warren Dunes. There were many options of unique ciders on tap to choose from, so I decided to do a tasting. The tasting was priced at $10 for a choice of 5 ciders or wines. The pours of each individual sample was very disappointing, measuring at 1.5 ounce each at best. Considering that a pint was priced at $5.50, for 16 ounces, this was quite ridiculous. When I brought this to our server’s attention, there was little response to this disparity and lack of value. Although the flavor profiles of the ciders was enjoyable, I would choose to visit another local cidery over returning...
