Frank's Chicago Shrimp House — Restaurant in Barrington Township

Chanel is kind and provided excellent customer service. This was my very first experience with Frank's Chicago Shrimp. Prior to ordering, I had decided to ask Chanel a few questions. She answered them with professionalism and patience. I ordered a quarter pound (1/4lbs) of the Chicago fried shrimp. She then told me that it would be a few minutes and I said "awesome I'm going to step next door real quick". When I returned to the restaurant, Chanel greeted me and said "hey by the way I overcooked the shrimp by a couple of seconds however I'm cooking you another batch." I was taking aback because I did not expect that at all. Chanel went above what she was supposed to do and she was very honest. She could have easily given me the 'slightly' overcooked seafood but she didn't. And to make this even better experience she gave me both orders.

I ordered two pounds of catfish claims onion rings French Fries and onion rings. To start off I was not aware that all the food is cooked in the same grease. With that being said some in our home were not able to eat the food due to a shell fish allergy. I asked for a refund and the management said there was nothing that they could do. For those of us who were able to eat the food we were very dissatisfied. The catfish did not taste like catfish and it had a very fishy taste and odor. The claims tasted like they were frozen claims that came out a box. The onion rings were greasy leaving a greasy film in out mouths. I ordered the catfish dinner which came with slaw and skinny fries and a quarter pound of shrimp. I did not like the catfish. It was too overly bready and I basically had to ask myself. Where is the fish? I like the coleslaw I was wishing I would’ve just focused on ordering the shrimp. It was very, very delicious. Another thing I like they have many different sauces that you can pick from the service was good. They charge a 3 1/2% on debit card purchases so if you have cash that would be the better route to go. they are very kind people when I first came in.
