First, a little about myself. For my entire life, I had been overweight. Starting in late 2013, I started to lose weight. Starting in August 2014, I pushed the process full throttle. Stopped drinking pop, started a healthy lifestyle (i.e. eating right and working out). Unfortunately, there is no easy way.

Fast forward to 2018. By this time, I had lost almost 100lbs. I had tried the fat freezing, etc but was ready to get rid of the excess skin. My search began for the best plastic surgeon. Mind you, I had been researching docs and made several visits to other plastic surgeons for at least 6+ years. I knew I wanted the best out there. In addition, I saw numerous friends get procedures done with horrible results. One in particular will take several procedures to fix her breasts. I knew I didn't want that.

December 2019, I made an appointment with his office. Upon walking in, I was immediately impressed that he was a Mayo Clinic surgeon. Having prior personal experience with Mayo Clinic, I knew I was definitely getting the best. For those who don't know, Mayo Clinic is one of the world renowned medical facilities and medical school. Dr Patel met with me and reviewed the options I had as I needed a tummy tuck with a hernia repair. In addition, I wanted a breast lift but did not want implants. He informed me that a fat transplant was possible using my own fat from liposuction. I was ecstatic.

Dr. Patel is meticulous in his surgery skills, which is what you want in a plastic surgeon. He did a 6 hour out-patient surgery with 0 (Zero) blood loss. Yes!! Zero blood loss. As with any procedure, many will look at the dollars. However, one needs to keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Moreover, the patient must also follow recovery directions and understand that it will take up to a year for one to heal, depending on your procedure.

Dr. Patel is amazing. He knows what procedure is right for each person and body type. He knows what to do and clearly explains the procedure and takes the time to listen. In addition, there are follow up visits initially weekly, then monthly, etc. Moreover, he is on the plastic surgery board. He helps make the rules/standards OTHER plastic surgeons must follow.

On the day of surgery, Dr. Patel listens. You bring in your inspiration photos, and he truly understands what you want. He spends the time ensuring you’re on the same page, even if it means going over things multiple times, like he did with me. It’s that attention to detail and personalized approach that made me feel completely at ease.

Recovery is a process, but with Dr. Patel’s work, you start to see the magic even amidst the swelling, and it just keeps improving. His work is grounded in research and evidence-based practice, yet he tailors everything to you. He always encourages me to “read the studies,” and everything he does is backed by science.

He genuinely cares. He spent over 40 minutes with me on the day of surgery to make sure I was comfortable, even though we had already covered everything in our pre-op appointment. I never felt rushed or nervous. Dr. Patel knows his patients inside and out. I’ve been with him since January 2024, and despite his busy office, he always remembers me.

Don’t waste time hopping from one consult to another—go straight to Dr. Patel. I’ve seen the work of other well-known surgeons in the Chicagoland area, and they don’t compare. His results are individualized, unlike many surgeons who have a one-size-fits-all approach. With Dr. Patel, no one will know you’ve had anything done—just that you look amazing.

I am a patient of Dr Patel and can’t say enough about him, his staff and how comfortable they all make you feel from the second you arrive for your consult. I had the pleasure meeting with Amy and instantly felt so comfortable with her, as if we have known each other for years. She was very knowledgeable about the procedure i was inquiring about and made me feel at ease about the surgery and recovery. Gave great details about what i should expect during recovery and showed many photos of before and afters. She spent quite some time with me answering all my questions and helped out with scheduling my procedure and handling all my pre op. i always look forward to seeing her at my post op apts. Kali was my nurse and has also such a way people, Kali was born to become a nurse. She helped out with all the post op bandages and garments during the healing process. She’s is very sweet and is so great at her job. All my post op visits were painless thanks to Kali. I now have Kali doing my injectable’s and she manages to make that painless and pleasant as well and gives a very natural look. Dr Patel did a fantastic job on my surgery, incredible. He even managed to fix some previous botched work I had done from a different surgeon. He’s extremely professional, very honest and a fantastic surgeon.
