By far the worst place ever! Placed an order for pick up, and the order was wrong. Ok, we all make mistakes I ordered a burrito with steak, rice, tomato, cheese, and avocado. When I took a bite my burrito did not have steak in it. Go back to the place so they can fix it and the guy at the register had an attitude and accused and asked if I took the steak out of the burrito. Like no this is why I'm back here because you did not give me what I ordered and paid for. He put his filthy hands all in the burrito looking for the steak and says his cooks would never make a burrito without putting meat in it! This place is filthy since he put his hands all in the burrito and then gave me money back because i insisted on getting my refund instead of arguing and feeling insulted that I took the steak out. So he touched the burrito and touched cash, like ewwww!! The WORST customer service EVER!!! DONT GO TO PAULS BURRITO!!! It's a disgrace having this place in such a nice town!!! We need a new authentic Mexican place in Barrington, I've had WAY better Mexican food but besides that it's all about the service you get. They need an attitude change and better customer service if they want to run a business!! Btw the guys name at the register is Steven so he told me and needs to be talked to because he makes Paul's Burrito look bad. I will NEVER spend my money on this disgusting place! I'm not one to write reviews but I had to share this awful...
Read moreOn my lunch break for work, I wanted to get some food for my coworker on myself. I stopped by a small restaurant in the heart of Barrington called Paul's Burrito Express.
I'm gonna start with the positives of the restaurant, the biggest is the portion of food. It's a good bang for your buck. The customer service is good as well. The horchata was the best thing I ordered without a doubt.
What could be improved-at least from my experience- the chimichangas was ok, the food was mislabeled... We each got a chimichanga, however the meat was different. The chimichanga I ordered was ground beef, however I ended up biting into the chicken. I am not crazy about rotisserie chicken so I can't say it was amazingly good. It was juicy which was nice.
The torta that was ordered was also rotisserie chicken. The guacamole tasted a little off as did the salsa. It wasn't very spicy either. The Google menu is mostly accurate, however the chimichanga is a dollar more expensive. I may return some time in the future, but I will decide to wait a bit...
Read morecame in the food was average, slightly over priced, and the carne asada made my wife sick. had a weird sour taste to it as if the food was a bit older instead of fresh meat. The food tasted bland with no flavor and was greasy. kitchen looked a bit unsanitary. I don't know what their problem is in general. i also ordered an aguas (waters) and came back to get a refill and switched up the flavor since we wanted to try something else considering we paid for the drink already. I paid for the refill nonetheless and i was given attitude for getting something else (unless you have different pricing for it) IT WASNT STATED. overall food was below average and over priced and will probably get you sick from unsanitary cleaning or cross contamination. Also get off your phone when there is a customer present instead of making them wait. I may be one of the many few who care but the rest do not. I am NEVER...
