We recently visited this charming spot and were blown away by the quality of both the food and service. Our experience began with a cup of coffee that arrived in the most amazing coffee cups. Not only was the presentation delightful, but the coffee itself was rich, smooth, and exactly what we needed to kickstart our morning. For breakfast, we ordered the Eggs Benedict, and it was simply fantastic. The perfectly poached eggs were accompanied by crispy, golden-brown potatoes that added the right amount of texture to the dish. Next up was the Veggie Skillet Garden Scrambler, a fresh and flavorful combination of vegetables cooked to perfection. Each bite was packed with garden-fresh taste and seasoned just right, making it an excellent option for vegetarians like us. To top it all off, we indulged in the Blackberry and Banana Pancakes, and they were heavenly. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and paired wonderfully with the fresh blackberries and bananas. It was the perfect mix of sweet and tart, and we couldn’t have asked for a better ending to our meal. Overall, the entire breakfast experience was superb. The attention to detail in the food presentation, combined with the cozy ambiance and friendly staff, made our visit memorable. If you're looking for a place that offers a diverse menu and great vegetarian options, this is it. We will definitely be coming back.

Our party of 6 was seated immediately upon arrival on Thursday morning around 10:45AM. They have both indoor and outdoor options, but with the summer heat creeping into the morning, we opted to sit indoors w the AC. We were given water but one of the cups had clear lipstick marks on the rim and another smelled vaguely of milk — so we weren’t super stoked about their cleanliness. However, the service was great and food came out quickly (less than 10 minutes!). I got the Joe’s Healthy Scrambler and it was a good size portion with a GREAT cheese pull from the mozzarella. My friend who showed us Egg Harbor (he’s a borne and raised Barrington native), said that the potatoes used to be better. Overall, a nice and quaint breakfast place but nothing to call home about. We visited the Barrington location this week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. First of all, they have delicious espresso based drinks! And their regular coffee and iced teas are great too. We were warmly greeted and shown to a table by a friendly hostess (kudos to Egg Harbor for employing people in the front of the house who some would consider "disabled"). Our server was friendly and very efficient. I had the lobster and seafood omelet that was filled with chunks of seafood and very delicious. My husband had the San Antonio skillet and he loved it! Very spicy and flavorful. We both loved the house made jam on our English muffins. I read another review that said the portions are small and I must disagree - we both took boxes home. Great experience!

It's obvious to me that the emphasis is all about saving money. I've been coming here for almost 20 years and have also frequented the Lincolnshire and Hinsdale locations. I have to say, I was immensley disappointed with my last visit to the Barrington location this week. It was a business meeting and I order a fresh fruit cup and english muffin. I received one orange slice, 8 blueberries, 3 tiny red grapes, two 1 inch square pieces of cantalope and 1 two inch long x 1/2 inch honeydew melon and two 1/4 slices of strawberries. The preserves were only enough to hardly cover 1/2 of 1/2 muffin and I am always sparing. No one offered to refill my ice tea or my colleages coffee. Actually , the server never acknowledge at me at any time. We were there 40 minutes and she came back 3 times to remove our plates when we clearly were not done (with our huge portions). Although in fairness she probably thought we were done at the beginning of the service since there was hardley anything on our plates. There were other tables available. I hope the new manager/owner is pleased with themselves about how much money they are saving by serving a ridiculously small amount of food. I will be so happy to accomodate that person by not coming back and having them have to serve food. They can save it in...

This place has really gone downhill! I used to eat here weekly and it was managed correctly, but now it's brutal. I specifically asked for my eggs to be soft and they were burnt. The server did nothing for it and the incompetant manager never came over. So I ended up eating it because I was hungry. After about 15 minutes the server came back with a 10% discount....Seriously a disappointment, I didn't need your 10% off. I wanted my eggs cooked correctly. We spent over $100 there and drove down from Cary. You can tell that the management is really dropped the ball, just in the turnover rate of the servers. We won't be going back, Brunch Cafe is better in Fox River Grove. This used to be our go-to for a special treat but now we'll just go to Benedict's in Crystal Lake. Before I wrote this review I gave them the opportunity to make it right because I filled out the survey and filed my complaint with toast when I paid, but nobody reached out. I don't think they care about their customers at all. They should definitely learn how to cook eggs the right way being called Egg Harbor cafe. I'm not in a hurry I just want my eggs cooked correctly, and they should be cooked...
