Had to take some time out of my vacation to write this place a review because.. wow! This place is SO GOOD!! Im a very picky eater and dont eat food from anywhere below 4.5 stars. Not so much picky per say but i want to make sure im eating the best i can get since were all a little tight on money these days. why this place doesnt have 5 stars is beyond me. I was seriously craving Italian and wasnt having much luck finding any in my area but this cute little place popped up so i called and ordered and wow. Just wow. Their food is so good. Worth the 45 minute round trip absolutely. My partner and i got the house sauce spaghetti and the mushroom spaghetti. Both so amazing and large portions! We could not finish lol. And their garlic butter with house made bread??? To die for. Im so so glad i went out of my comfort zone and got here. I dont live anywhere near here but if i did i would come back all. The. Time. If you want good pasta look no further lol, they definitely know what their doing. Every time ive gotten take out pasta I've thought to myself i can make better at home... not here! Got me beat! I usually add so much salt and pepper to my dishes too and was affraid about not having seasoning while on vacation but you really dont need it. They really know...
Read moreI visit The White Mountains every single year, and I always pass this place. So this year, I decided to give this place a shot! I had my hopes up high with a great gut feeling, because this place has 30 years + experience cooking Italian dishes. I was completely let down. The only thing I enjoyed the most was the garlic butter and fresh bread. I ordered mozz sticks which were clearly fresh from the freezer, and were luke warm with a watered down marinara sauce to dip them in. For my meal I ordered chicken, and broccoli Alfredo. The chicken was poached with no seasoning, and the Alfredo sauce had a good base, but again, no flavor. I ate most of the broccoli and avoided the chicken as best as I could. My boyfriend ordered the typical spaghetti and meatballs with a meaty sauce. The sauce pooled at the bottom of the dish it was so watery, and there was nearly any meat in the meat sauce besides the three meatballs that came with the meal. However, my boyfriend did say that he enjoyed the meatballs the best. I do not know how some people awarded this place 5 stars. I gave it 2 because of the garlic bread and the friendly service. If you are looking for a true Italian dish, sorry, it's not at Joeseph's...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I only have the opportunity to visit the Glen/Conway area a few times a year, and we make a point of visiting Joseph's Spaghetti Shed at least once during each vacation. Joseph's never disappoints.
We had dinner there last night, and it was once again fabulous. Great service with a smile (thank you, Eric), and a delicious dinner. He had the special -- meatballs and sausage in the house sauce over spaghetti -- and finished every possible bite. I tried pizza, which is new to the menu this year. I went with the spinach-feta with shrimp. Also wonderful. A thin, crispy crust held up to the juicy shrimp and garlic, and I ate the whole damn thing on my own (I should point out here that the "whole damn thing" was a one-person pie, about the size of a dinner plate).
Joseph's serves fresh bread with a choice of butter pats or a small cup of garlic butter. Don't miss the chance to at least try some of this very light, delicious bread. The garlic butter? Awesome!
With a glass of wine and a glass of root beer, our entire order was about $42. Very reasonable, especially with the portion size.
Happy 31st Anniversary Joseph's. Hope to continue visiting you for another...
