I'm a frequent customer for their awesome beer, but I'm reviewing their brewery as an event venue today.
Ledge Brewing saved me the headache of finding a restaurant that would cater a rehearsal dinner for 50ppl without charging me an arm and a leg for cover fee/buying out the restaurant on top of food and drinks.Though he does charge a fee.
I was in contact with the owner Ian very early on in the planning, the back room space with the artistic mural is perfect for an event esp a couple like us who loves craft beer. The only problem was Ledge doesn't serve food nor do they have a kitchen to accommodate that. Finding the right catering company at the right price was really tough in this area. After I inquired around more with different restaurants and catering services, Ledge Brewing was actually perfect for our price point (hint: Italian food over at Vito Bistro in North Conway is one option)
Overall, Ian had his crews bring in picnic tables from outside to up the seating up to 50 seats (so we don't have to do chairs rental), and they have a speaker system for bluetooth music as well projector for slideshows and microphone. Everything you need for an event.
Don't forget the beer! Always spectacular and so many beer styles-- only thing missing is bringing in some hard cider guest tap.
Only thing is, Ian may be slow with emails, be patient and you will not be disappointed.
Everyone loved Ledge Brewing for the chill rehearsal dinner. Overall, less than $1500 for 50 pp (including food, beer, non-alcoholic byo drinks, chafing set,...
Read moreBeing a “craft beer guy” for a good 15 years (and quite geeky and picky about the matter!), I wholeheartedly enjoyed Ledge! After being underwhelmed at another regional brewery, as happens quite a bit nowadays with so many new craft breweries (“we have 20 IPA’s and a bearded hipster making pulled pork sandwiches!”), Ledge restored my faith that great new breweries can still come into existence. Small on production and big on beer, Ledge dispenses with “notes of this” and “hints of that”, and instead goes full bore on bold flavor-forward profiles solidly from nose to finish. My flight of four beers produced four instances of “wow” after the first sips, after which I took my time to enjoy a pint of my favorite (which was very hard to choose from the four, as they were all fantastic!). The place was spacious and clean, and the staff very friendly and attuned to the customers, sans any attitudes usually found at new breweries nowadays (“we have 20 IPA’s and a bearded hipster making pulled pork sandwiches, which makes us too cool to be friendly to people!”) The staff at Ledge took the time to talk me through the beers, discuss beer and beerology, and add to the enjoyment of beer drinking and beer comradety.
When you visit the Conway/Intervale area and the White Mountains, put Ledge on your itinerary - it’ll add to your enjoyment of good beer, good beer people, and the wonderful place that is the...
Read moreBad Growler - Wouldn't Exchange (Happy Ending)
As you can read below, my issue is in the process of being resolved, so I have updated the rating accordingly. I appreciate the quick and helpful response I received from management, and I look forward to continuing to patronize this company.
We've previously had nothing but good experiences with Ledge Brewing Company. That's why we own two growlers. Yesterday, I filled one with an excellent brown ale, and the other with their "As you Wish" IPA. When we got home, my son, who is very knowledgeable about beers, tasted the IPA and immediately found that it smelled and tasted diacetyl. This happens on occasion, and the solution is simply to replace the bad growler with something else, which is what I attempted to do today.
I was told that I couldn't exchange a growler just because we didn't like the beer. I said it wasn't that we didn't like it; it's that it was bad. I told the manager it was like a bad bottle of wine, and invited him to taste it, which he declined to do "because of the pandemic." Bottom line is that we're stuck with an undrinkable growler of IPA and out more than $20.
Anyone filling a growler here would be well advised to sample the beer before buying, because if there's a problem, you'll be...
