Penny’s Publick House — Restaurant in Bartlett

My buddy and I were searching for a watering hole at 9pm on a Thursday night, taking a night off from the wives and kids. Most of the places weren't open, or were closing soon. Pennys showed up as an oasis on google maps, and it was exactly what we were looking for. A gentlemans environment with leather sofas, whisky and cigars to choose from, an outdoor patio, and a chess board. This place is now open for business and it is AMAZING! The atmosphere is like if your living room was located in a colonial tavern. There is a well stocked humidor for cigars, and lots of options for local beers and premium cocktails. Make sure to ask about the "Penny's Epiphany" cocktail; I've never had anything like it before. Cigar lounges don't sell food, but you can bring your own, or have one of the local places deliver. Added bonus: Well-behaved dogs are welcome! No need to leave Fido home...

I just discovered Penny's on a Saturday (late August) and I had the BEST time. I don't know the last time I laughed so hard, Penny teased me relentlessly for confusing a map of New Hampshire with ... Florida. The atmosphere is friendly with comfortable couches, Penny was behind the bar and was super welcoming. It's not another local tourist trap, and I feel lucky to live five minutes away.
