Pietanza's — Restaurant in Bartlett

I normally don't do this, but the overall experience was awful. My wife ordered the pizza at 6:40pm, yes on a busy Friday night, I arrived 7:09pm (within the 30 mins indicated by the online order status). I watched many individuals waiting for their pizza and becoming quite frustrated with the process. Asking what the pizza ETA was or making comments such as, "They tell everyone it will be 5-10 mins". By 7:35pm, all the people that were there before and after me were gone. My pizza came out at 7:45pm, and no this wasn't a deep dish. All I got, was a sorry we are busy and how about a couple of liters (of soda) on us. I'm sorry, NO! This will be the last time I frequent this place, while the food is good, the overall service is terrible.

UPDATE: Spoke to Gianni and I am over the top impressed with his handling of this situation. While it was not ideal, it is an understandable problem. Most places would have washed their hands of me and moved on. Gianni was concerned about my experience and this, along with the food is what would make me go back. I updated the review from 1 to 5 stars due to him....

We had reservations for 6:15 on Valentines evening to have dinner with another couple. The service was horrible. It took 15 minutes to get a drink and then we ordered an appetizer. We ordered our dinner at 6:45 and the soup came out 15 minutes later. From 7:00 o''clock until 7:50 we just sat there watching people who came in after us being served and waited on and actually some had left while we were still waiting for our food. We had to ask our waitress where our dinner was and she said she would check. It came out after about another 5 minutes. We then ordered a desert which was Bread Pudding. I don't know who taught the cook how to make bread pudding but this certainly wasn't a typical Bread pudding. It was a dark brown like it was supposed to be chocolate or something? It seemed that there were Dates in it? Either way, it was terrible. Won't go back or even consider going back. The food was OK at best but the service made the experience...

6/12/22 UPDATE.....ORDERED THEIR NEW FOCACCIA. WOW!!! Delicious!!

I LOVE this place! The food is always fresh made, not out of a box and realllly delicious! They have an extensive menu and it is always difficult to make selections - it ALL sounds so great. Some of my favorites...rigatoni country, arancini, bechamel potatoes, fettucine alfredo w/chicken/broccoli, mini panzarotti, lasagna....well, i love the whole menu! I don't eat fish but my friend had the grilled octopus and said it was some of the best he's ever had. The dessert bread pudding is indescribably delicious. Served warm with an amazing sauce. The flavor varies. Check out this place that makes REAL Italian food. Not the Olive Garden type garbage. Buon appetito :)

UPDATE: 8/22... another delicious meal from Pietanza’s 😋😋😋. Tonight was lasagna, Homemade meatballs, homemade Focaccia & chicken rice lemon soup. I LOVE...
