Amazing first time experience and look forward to planning my return trip. Ordered the chimichanga with chicken and subbed refried beans for the charro beans just for preference. Plate arrived piping hot not long after ordering. Was slightly taken aback by the size of it. Most places I’ve been it’s just slightly smaller than a burrito, and here it was about the size of my fist in its entirety. However, lot of the places I’ve been just do a queso sauce and call it good. Not here, not only was it smaller than I expected, it was covered in what they called gravy with melted cheese on top. Let me tell you now between flavor of the meat which abundantly filled the entire tortilla and the gravy, it’s more like it was cooked in liquid crack. It more than made up for its appearance, as there was no empty space within the tortilla like other places. Hands down the best chimichanga I’ve ever had. Looking at the other dishes coming out made me sad I only have one stomach and couldn’t sample everything. I look forward to coming back and trying everything they...
Read moreCalled before going to see if they served breakfast since they opened at 11am. We were told yes so when we showed up and there was no breakfast menu we asked why the told us yes. The manager came over to explain that they have meals they can make they just don’t advertise it.
So husband ordered 2 eggs with bacon and beans … daughter for her usual flautas and I got cheese enchiladas.
Order comes out and they didn’t have bacon. The flaunts had whole chicken strips inside instead of shredded chicken. The enchiladas had a brown gravy on them not the traditional red sauce.
I asked the server why there was no red sauce and they said it’s made with gravy. Even though the menu showed red sauce.
I asked for a refill on sprite and got back a drink of nothing but carbonation.
Mind you we have eaten here many times in the past and orders enchiladas and flautas and never have they been made like this.
No discount on the bill either! We will never be back and I will not recommend this...
Read moreWe love this restaurant. Come here as often is allowable, and actually the only dine in sit down place in Bastrop we go to except maybe the bakery, but that's another review. The waitstaff is very friendly and always happy to see us when we arrive and the entirety of our visit. Service is good and the food comes in a reasonable amount of time, not too fast or too slow. They are attentive to when you need refills on your drink of choice, or if you've run out of the complimentary chips and salsa. Never an issue for substituting items on the menu for other items. Did I even say about how good the food itself is? I don't think I did, so let it be known! And for the price point, you can't go wrong. You could easily spend the same amount for fast food which doesn't even compare to the quality of the foods you can get. All in all I recommend Guadalajara, but I don't want everyone to go there while I'm there, because I don't like crowds, so space yourself out but do...
