First time to visit Stories Restaurant at Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. It was our 25th wedding anniversary. Approaching the restaurant it is a little offsetting that the hostess station is located outside the closed doors. After being sat it took quite a bit of time to get water and then much longer to get our drinks.

Once our waitress was established things went smoothly. She was great, I think her name is April? Not real sure. Now to the food. . . My husband was intrigued with the ribeye steaks and the difference between the Wagyu Ribeye and the Angus Ribeye. Our waitress claimed that the Wagyu was more tender, more flavorful and just all over better steak. The steak was good but not what he was expecting. I ordered the Chef's Creation Sea Scallops. The plate looked wonderful. I have only had scallops a couple of times so not an expert with what is considered under or overcooked. I gave my husband half of one of my scallops and he could not eat it. He claimed they were undercooked. There was grit in the scallops as well. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. The whole experience was okay but not worth...

First off, our service was amazing. our server Michael was fantastic, his delivery and presentation of the menu made us fall in love with the food selection.

The food: On a Tuesday We had the filet and the ribeye. To put it lightly, we were very disappointed. @ $64 dollars a plate the food was sub par at best. the potatoes were terribly dry, The flavor of the brussels were not pared well with the dish, the filet was far over seasoned, the ribeye was over done but the flavor was right. The server was kind enough to have another ribeye prepared. when the second one came out (made by the chef himself) the steak was flavorless and seemingly rushed through.

Tuesday, Friday, Saturday... Regardless of the time of week they should take the same care and pride in each dish, each day. If this was a representation of how the food normally is then they need to rethink their process and menu.

I am not writing this review to complain, I am writing this review in hopes that they do better, especially with the crowd the Hyatt attracts.

We will not be...

Our waiter was running into tables, ran glasses into other glasses at our table, left my wife's wine at the service counter for ten minutes, and couldn't answer questions about the menu.

As for the food, frankly embarrassed that I paid this much money for fairly atrocious fare. The risotto as firm beyond al dente, and couldn't be called risotto by any self respecting restaurant. The antelope was cooked well, but had a surprising scent to it, and the carrots which were served with it were inconsistent, some hard, some fork cuttable. Who knows.

All of the servers had a slovenly appearance, and because why not, there were gnats or little flying bugs which seemed to appear when my salad was served. The salad was fine, but the bugs were oddly timed.

I had heard good things about the resort in general, but so far I'm decidedly...

My family's experience was just wonderful. Our server was so helpful and even though the menu was brand new he was able to help us find what we wanted. The chef came and spoke with us about the menu as well and was so friendly and delightful. He even brought our kids a "secret stash" of gummy worms which that just about made their day. The food presentation was beautiful and my fish i had was cooked to perfection. My husband had the waygu steak and it melted in your mouth. So the food was amazing but the service is really what makes it a 10 out 10 experience. Cant wait to go again.

Michael was a fantastic server and knew the menu inside and out. The staff were extremely accommodating with our request to move outside, since inside was too loud for us. But the porch was lovely - just be aware that the heaters are strong! The amuse-Bouche was tasty, as were the cocktails. The squash bisque was on point, and the winter salad was gorgeous. My husband loved his steak, but honestly, the snapper was underwhelming. The pear dessert was refreshing, but the chocolate cake was a little much for me personally.

The place is great for family dinning. The food is great, not a big menu but you will enjoy what they offer. We were a party of four (2 adults and 2 kids) and ended up paying $200. Mix of Texan and seafood. We tried soup, Halibut, Seared Ahi Tuna, Filet Mignon, and Grilled Salmon. For dessert do try their apple pie and dirt cake. The vibe is old country mix with contemporary. The service is great and attentive. Our server Ian gave us great recommendations.
