First time to visit Stories Restaurant at Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. It was our 25th wedding anniversary. Approaching the restaurant it is a little offsetting that the hostess station is located outside the closed doors. After being sat it took quite a bit of time to get water and then much longer to get our drinks.
Once our waitress was established things went smoothly. She was great, I think her name is April? Not real sure. Now to the food. . . My husband was intrigued with the ribeye steaks and the difference between the Wagyu Ribeye and the Angus Ribeye. Our waitress claimed that the Wagyu was more tender, more flavorful and just all over better steak. The steak was good but not what he was expecting. I ordered the Chef's Creation Sea Scallops. The plate looked wonderful. I have only had scallops a couple of times so not an expert with what is considered under or overcooked. I gave my husband half of one of my scallops and he could not eat it. He claimed they were undercooked. There was grit in the scallops as well. We sat outside and it was a beautiful evening. The whole experience was okay but not worth...

The food: On a Tuesday We had the filet and the ribeye. To put it lightly, we were very disappointed. @ $64 dollars a plate the food was sub par at best. the potatoes were terribly dry, The flavor of the brussels were not pared well with the dish, the filet was far over seasoned, the ribeye was over done but the flavor was right. The server was kind enough to have another ribeye prepared. when the second one came out (made by the chef himself) the steak was flavorless and seemingly rushed through.
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday... Regardless of the time of week they should take the same care and pride in each dish, each day. If this was a representation of how the food normally is then they need to rethink their process and menu.
I am not writing this review to complain, I am writing this review in hopes that they do better, especially with the crowd the Hyatt attracts.
We will not be...

As for the food, frankly embarrassed that I paid this much money for fairly atrocious fare. The risotto as firm beyond al dente, and couldn't be called risotto by any self respecting restaurant. The antelope was cooked well, but had a surprising scent to it, and the carrots which were served with it were inconsistent, some hard, some fork cuttable. Who knows.
All of the servers had a slovenly appearance, and because why not, there were gnats or little flying bugs which seemed to appear when my salad was served. The salad was fine, but the bugs were oddly timed.
I had heard good things about the resort in general, but so far I'm decidedly...
