John's Seafood & Restaurant — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

This unique little restaurant, isn't fancy, not upscale at all. It's in the caterogy of a "hole in the wall"! But, the seafood is absolutely excellent! It's in or near Baton Rouge, LA. It's not far from the Raising Cane River Convention Center. This was our second time going there And when in the area, we will go again! They have seafood of all kinds, fresh and plentiful. We all opted for the Shrimp Poboy....not knowing from the price that it was a foot long! 6" filled each of us up, all the better, because we all had family members at home who would enjoy our leftovers. They have plates or foot longs. It is very reasonably priced, for the huge amount of food you get. I'm a person who enjoys a iced drink With a meal such as that. But, there is no drink fountain there ; only bottled drinks. The restaurant is clean and has tables and chairs. It's very popular with the locals...they have a steady come in and take out of people they know by name. But, if you were like us just hungry and wanting good food in generous portions...you don't mind the dining in , because if you were not from there... let's just say eating in the car is not an option, you will have food all Over you and your vehicle... it's so crammed full of the seafood, take a bite of a shrimp Poboy and about ten more shrimp will fall out! Honestly, if you are wanting fresh delicious seafood...John's is a place you will not...

The food was amazing. Popcorn shrimp and shrimp fried rice both come generously proportioned. The fish strips nearly fall apart in your mouth, lightly battered, crisp outside n jucy center.. so delicious, you could say they are cooked to perfection. However, the actual size of each strip the fish is cut into...rather small. Nonetheless still 100% pleased with my purcase, if i HAD to come up with a food related aspect to complain about, the size of the catfish strips is honestly all I could come up with. On the other hand if we are speaking on service, the cashier wasn't of much help, After voicing outloud it was my first time trying Johns i expected some sort of suggestion or recommendation however I barely even got a response from the young lady whom looked up from her phone only for a brief moment which is when she handed me a print out version of the menu I was point at when I was attempting to ask a question about the menu.. but all together I was pleased and will be...

order 2 plates off the waitr app. both with fried rice and chicken and for both plates i paid 27.70! so i get my food noticed it was wrong, so i called the place to let them knw it was incorrect the lady on the phone told me i needed to take it up with waitr because they don’t hve it on the app tht they charge more for rice. BUT I KID YOU NOT i go in there on a normal basic the plate with 7 wings and ride or fries are $8 since when y’all charge more for rice! Then she was rude and tried to tell me what i ordered when i was looking at my order on my phone directly as i was talking to them! she overtalked me the whole entire conversation and told me i was wrong then hung up! regret spending my money here i swear my night and...
