Baby, when I tell you the food is everythang. I am not a fan of eating soul food from a restaurant bc I have a mama who is from NOLA, however, I was craving red beans and rice and took to The Google and found this hidden 💎 not too far from my house. I have been there 4x in eight days. Every food item I had was impeccable. The fried 🍤 are so big and I swear the red beans had pickled meat in it. The fried chicken 🍗 and thigh, my goodness. This restaurant is a "must you try." You WILL NOT be disappointed and the customer service is A1. She couldn't believe I remembered her from back in the day when she was a hostess at Cracker Barrel. She is still delivering great and personable customer service. The chef in the kitchen, do your thang phat. My daughter tried it and likes it. She had the cheeseburger dressed with grilled onions and mushrooms with fries and fried okra. She enjoyed it. My mom had the shrimp po-boy which was good but ya'll know us New Orleanians prefer that Leidenheimer french bread and my step-dad had the fried gizzards and he was pleased! The 🍌 pudding is good as well. There are items that aren't on the menu so if you have a craving for something, just ask and it may be on the list. Oh, I haven't had their baked potato but I saw it and it looked sooooo good. That is next in line. Spectacular Tubers, who?! Chile..... Anyways, thank goodness they were open on Labor Day! You can place your order over the phone as well bc the wait time is a little long bc it is...
Read moreI don't write reviews often but, me and my cousin we're driving through and happened to decide this place with no expectations. We walked in and immediately brought me back to showing up at grandma's house and somehow a 40 course meal would be whipped up in what seemed like an instance. We told them we were from the PNW passing through and they welcomed us in as if we had been coming everyday. When we got back to the motel to eat the Catfish Acadiana, the greens, and I got mac n cheese my cousin got fried okra we're so good I wanted to start singing the gospel. This is enough for 5 stars but when I ate the banana pudding, I had a ratatouille moment, flashbacks to sitting on a stool between my grandma and grandpa hearing stories about life during the depression and I definitely had to act as if had something in my eye. I know this sounds overblown but it's been about a year and a half since we ate there and I haven't shut up about it since. It's one of my favorite parts of that whole cross-country road trip. Thank you for a memory that anytime I talk to my cousin we...
Read moreI had the taste for a baked potato, so my husband googled a few spots, I picked LJK just from the pics of food. Not gone lie, we pulled up, and the parking lot was empty, and we both became a little skeptical. We were about to pull off, and I asked my husband how their reviews were, we ended up giving them a try after reading several good reviews! (GLAD WE DID)
Let me just say Mrs. Duncan and Dea's hospitality and professionalism alone were a plus for me! But while placing our order, it was Mrs. Duncan's confidence in what she was serving, that really made me want to see what they had to offer!!
We both ordered stuffed baked potatoes, and let me say, THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! The preparation, the size of the potatoes, and the taste definitely deserve 5 🌟s!! We will definitely return to try more of their food and...
