Raising Cane's has become a Louisiana staple, by doing three things: One, know your market. Two, keep it simple. Three, be duplicatable.
With its roots in Baton Rouge, on LSU'S Campus (see #themothership my favorite location to this day), founder (and cashier/cook) #toddgraves clearly knew that anyone in Baton Rouge loves, LSU Tiger football, canines, good chicken & (real) sweet tea. Add to that lemonade on a hot summer day, and thick crinkle cut fries that remind us of home and you have a winning combo.
Unlike some "competitors," Cane's doesn't over hype their menu offerings, but they over deliver on simplicity, consistency, speed and service leading to amazing retention rates amongst locals. Us southern folk, love familiarity to say the least.
I remember years back, before Cane's expanded to New Orleans, my brother would come to LSU's campus, not to visit me, but to come get Cane's. Smh
There have been a few tweaks over the years, including what appears to be slightly smaller fingers, but based on Cane's incredible visibility in the community, strategic sponsorships, dog parks and charitable donations as well as some of the most consistent and reliable food offerings of any chain in America, dare I say better than some full service restaurants in the chicken department, Cane's has been and will be one of my Highly Recommended options tourists (and locals who've been living under a rock since 1996).

Read moreI work right across the street so i come to this location at least twice a week, i don’t like to eat heavy while at work so i always order a kids meal.. today i ordered a kids meal with a sprite sat in the parking lot to eat and when i finished i noticed my drink was incorrect (i received an UNsweet tea) since i was still in the parking lot i swung back around to get my correct drink.. the same girl who took my order/gave me my items was still at the window but this time she refused to open the window or even acknowledge that i was there i sat there looking into the window for about a minute while everyone inside looked out at me.. finally a manager walks up and asks the problem with receipt in hand i simply say i was given the wrong drink, i then heard the lady who took my order in the background saying “oh that’s it, just a drink? i thought she had a big problem” .. so just hearing that annoyed me because she knew i was there at the window and needed something but refused to acknowledge me or my problem because she ASSUMED it was too big for her to handle? she should have still acknowledge the fact that i was there and asked what i needed i may have just wanted some more ketchup or something who knows but to just ignore a customer sitting at the window is...
Read moreMy 11-year-old son won gift cards to Canes at a fall fest from a church. Canes is around the corner from our home, and he LOVES and begs for Canes often. We hardly can afford Canes, due to the increase of prices, so we don't go often. This past Wednesday was a special treat for him.
He was over the moon to use the gift card for he and his sister's dinner on Wednesday, Oct 12 at around 530..545PM. We've never been this unsatisfied by the food. The fries were mushy and old, the lemonade tasted terrible, the toast was not toasted, and I couldn't even cut the chicken up to give to my toddler. (It was that tough!)
For the price of their value meals, I was NOT impressed. My son who is 11 was devastated. He made me taste a fry and said not only were the mushy and cold, but they also tasted like someone smoked over them. (They were THAT bad)
He LOVES canes and was SO upset that he wasted his gift card on this. Hoping this is not something to be expected again, should we try Canes again. Very upsetting.
Canes made a comment that they wanted to make it right on my last review, so I went to their site as directed and put my info there. I have yet to hear...
