K & L Bar-B-Que — Restaurant in Baxley

I'm very unhappy with this place. For one I don't see how 3 plates and 2 drinks would come up to $35.37. We ordered a BBQ stuffed potato add broccoli and extra shredded cheese, a large BBQ sandwich with 2 sides of potato salad and a small BBQ sandwich with chips and baked beans with 2 large teas. We live 20 minutes out of the city limits, got all the way home to find NO BBQ on the potato and only 1 side of potato salad. How do you forget the BBQ at a BBQ joint right. 🤔 we tried calling to see if they could fix it on a rain check which Taco bell or anywhere else does but the line stays busy. They take the first plate and throw it in the trash (but there are children starving in our country right now) . Then they try to argue with me about what I ordered. A broccoli and cheese plate is $7 which is what they said they charge us for. The rest of the prices are $5.50, $4.50 $3 $3 $2 $2 and that doesn't add up to $35.37 so what did they charge us for that we didn't get, THEY STOLE MONEY FROM US BY OVER CHARGING. They couldn't answer none of my questions straight up about the money so we just left.I like BBQ but I won't be going back...

An absolute bbq destination and on many must try lists for bbq experts and enthusiasts. This small bbq stand is worth traveling well out of your way for and is a hidden gem in the southern food world. The pork butts and ribs are incredibly tender and delicious and the sides are all fantastic- it's too hard to choose a few- try them all! The brisket is probably the best example of brisket in the south outside of Texas. Brunswick stew is full of meat and vegetables and melts in your mouth. If you aren't full from the meat, make sure to sample the locally made desserts.

The wealth of knowledge and experience in the bbq world comes to life right in front of you as you enjoy your meal- eat at the picnic tables right next to the pits. This is as authentic and real as it gets when it comes to pitmasters living their craft.

Told to me by my co-workers they detailed about a big potatoes stuffed with all kinds of meats you want. While they have other options I went with the fabled starched Spud. She handed me my to go bag and instantly the weight of it had me surprised. Even more when I opened it and dives into the meal. The pulled pork part was great but the sauce was kinda lacking. To me it was bland no real spices to it. I saw the cooks use a premade sauce as well so that explains it. The potato itself was cooked to perfection. I gained courage to devour the whole thing and I did. Every. Single. Bite. With Baxley loaded with fast-food joints it's great to see a local food shack that's on the money.
