Governor's Quarters — Restaurant in Bay City

This used to be one of my favorite hangouts in town. The beer selection is always great and the food pretty good, so we suffered through what could be described as lackluster service. No longer is this the case. 3 friends and I went in for the Dark Night Darker Beer event on 12/21/17, looking forward to some great beers. However, we did not get to try any. We knew it would be crazy busy, so we braced for slow service. After we stood at the bar for a bit, we caught a break on a table in the back room. After sitting down, we waited for 35 minutes without being addressed once by our server, Hallie. I know her name because we are in there fairly regularly (3-4 times a month). Not a “hello” or a “I’ll be right with you” or anything, as if we were invisible. The two tables next to us that were seated right after us were served; one table had even finished their drinks in that same time. After 45 minutes of ZERO service, full of disappointment, we decided to leave and go somewhere else. What’s more, I messaged the official page through FB Messenger and explained our experience, and all I received was a “sorry we couldn’t get to you, hope to see you soon.” The place does not seem to care about their customers’ experience, even the (formerly)...

I'm not huge on beer, personally, but this is one of those annoyingly uncommon cases where you don't have to walk in wondering if the food is any good, though I can't really speak to any health benefits. Had a burger so doggone juicy, it drooled in the basket. I'm so glad I'm not a health nut. I'll pay for it in the fullness of time, but I'm so happy to be alive, and places like this are why.

Against my usual taste, I would also like to suggest their fried green beans. It's a good change of pace. Obviously still not healthy since they're fried and greasy, but mercy me, they are GOOD.

Had my first visit here and had a wonderful time! The food truly is "one-of-a-kind" & I love how the names of items/menu all have a "political flavor". The service was very good esp as it was a large private group being served. The atmosphere is nice but a bit hard to hear & carry on conversations as the room is big, bare floor etc...One minor issues for me was the chairs are all on rollers and I did struggle a bit getting in/out of them as I use a cane for a physical disability. But overall I really loved...
