Doña Ana in Bayamón, PR, beautifully showcases the rich flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine. From the moment you step in, the warm ambiance and welcoming staff set the stage for a delightful dining experience. One of the standout dishes is the plantain mofongo. This traditional favorite is expertly crafted, with perfectly fried plantains mashed to creamy perfection and seasoned just right. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors that elevates the dish to new heights. The pulpo appetizer is another must-try. The octopus is tender and infused with a drizzle of citrus. It’s a refreshing start that showcases the chef’s skill and attention to detail. The rice and red beans are a classic accompaniment that should not be overlooked. The beans are rich and flavorful, while the rice is perfectly cooked, creating a comforting and satisfying combination that rounds out the meal beautifully. For those seeking comfort, the chicken broth is a heartwarming option, especially in combination with plantain mofongo. Rich and flavorful, it’s like a hug in a bowl that make it the perfect antidote to a long day. And of course, no meal is complete without a drink. The piña colada, made with local rum, is a tropical delight that will whisk you away to a beachside paradise. Creamy and refreshing, it’s the perfect accompaniment to the vibrant dishes. A special thank you to the owner, Ruen, and our server (expert on everything Puerto Rico), Abraham, for their utmost hospitality. Their attentiveness and warmth truly enhanced our dining experience. Overall, Doña Ana offers a memorable dining adventure that celebrates the best of Puerto Rican flavors, local customs and quality. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this restaurant is definitely worth a stop for an authentic taste of the island.

My family had a fantastic experience here. Cesar was our server and he had wonderful recommendations and made our family feel very welcome. We started with calamari, fried cheese and guava sauce (yum!) and corn fritters. We drank two fantastic local beers one with passion fruit, the other with blood orange. The family picky eater enjoyed their chicken soup. The broth was one of the most delicious broths I've ever had. It would make phò seem boring with the plethora of savory flavors. I had fried snapper and sweet plantains. It was some of the best fried fish I've had in at least a year, perhaps more. My wife had mofungo and I had to beg for a second bite. The garlicy butter paired perfectly with the dish. She had rice and red beans with it, and my children didn't let her get more than a bite For dessert I had a chocolate flan which made my grandmother's ghost smile in delight! My tummy is so happy. I hope you try their food and move it as much as we did!

Leave Plaza del Sol because don’t want to eat there and take advantage that were near this place that was in our bucket list. The place was full but fortunately, they had a table for us.They have live music (Thursday thru Sunday) and the mayority of their customers were adults (third age). Service was amicable and fast. The food came in short time. Start with the chicken “asopaò” as an appetizer taste like homemade so the taro cream. The house specialty’s is the “Bistec encebollado” we order one plate with mofongo Was soft, tasty, very good like home. Usually in a place that the seafood is not theirs specialty try not to order but we took a chance with the “octopus salad with mofongo” was very good. Order for dessert the carrot cake,it look simple but taste very good. The music, the homemade flavors of the food, the ambiance we had a great time. Definitely will return.

I was so excited to come to this place BUT where do I even begin with the disappointment?! The service was not customer service oriented. I feel terrible saying this because my daughter is a waitress at a very popular chain restaurant so I'm kinda partisan toward wait staff to begin with. So, I understand what I ordered took a long time cuz they did it from "scratch" (asopao de pollo) nonetheless it came out about 45 mins later. It wasn't how I had ordered it; I had ordered more liquid than anything else (the stomach was in an upheaval) and it came out with a ton of rice. Fine, not a problem, they took it back and returned it as I preferred. I ordered the salad with it. No utensils were provided for the salad. No dressing either. Had to ask another waitresses for the items. Fine I got my items in increments. Tasted the asopao wow salty as salty can get! My husband ordered the "grilled" chicken -- it came out pale and unappealing. Bit into it and took a sip of soda immediately to balance out the salt. Maybe it wasn't a good day or the best selection for us. Unfortunately, that was our experience! Please accept the feedback as a fact for improvements and nothing else. I was hoping to rave about it but destiny and the chefs had other plans! Now my blood pressure is as high as the salt levels in the dishes we...

Poor and good service. After two hours we left because the first guy that took our order was a mess. I had to call him so we could get our menus, then I had to call him so we could order our drinks. When we ordered our drinks he took our food order. Later when he brought our drinks he asked if we were ready to order... I said, we already gave you our order... he apologized and went to put the order at that moment. When he is putting the order he came back to ask how I wanted the fish. I said, what you mean? It's fried fish. The plate is called pescado frito entero. Well, when we got the order what we got was a breaded piece of fish instead of the whole fish fried. By that time the first guy had already gone home for the day. I told the other guy that it was the wrong order. He had to put place a new order to start cooking the fish.

Anyways, we got tired of waiting and we decided to pay for the drinks and the appetizers and leave. The manager and the other guy were very friendly and very apologetic and gave us the fish to take home for free. The fish was ok... I could not say it was good or great,...
