La Branche Bistro & Café — Restaurant in Bayonne

Worst service I’ve ever had. The food is very delicious. But it didn’t make up for the service at all. No one came to get our drink order when we sat down. After waiting for 15 mins I had to walk to the counter and politely ask for someone to come. Cause they’ve been ignoring my table and the table next to us. The food took forever to come out.

We were with a table of 3. And my friend got his entree. And waited another 15 mins for the other two entrees to come out. We ordered two crepes as appetizers but only one came out after we ate our entrees. We then asked where our second crepe was. We told them if it’s not made then just cancel it. They went to the back to look and 3 seconds later they brought it to our table and it was ice cold. So basically it was made a while ago and just sat in the kitchen till we brought it to their attention.

There’s a difference between being really busy service. And just terrible don’t know what they are doing service. There’s only 9 tables there with at least 4 servers working the tables. So it’s not like they are understaffed. Taking plates away while people are eating etc. great food but the service ruined it. Love to support restaurants and stores in town. But I can never go back...

The owner of this establishment should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t write many reviews but I feel compelled to share my experience especially because Bayonne is a small town. I dined there last night . There was one person behind the counter that was extremely busy with walk in to go orders for crepes and desserts. There was no other employee there to help ! We waited 45 mins for a salad and a gallete. There was no other table waiting for food . We finally got the food when I walked up to the counter to tell her if it wasn’t ready we were leaving . She grabbed the food momentarily after . Served the food and we still hadn’t gotten the water and ice tea yet . We finished dinner and then she brought the drinks over . Never once was she able to come even ask if we needed anything or I’f the food was ok . Not her fault as the owner should NOT have 1 person in their establishment by themselves!! I will never patronize this place again . Worst...

This cafe is an unexpected GEM! The only reason I say unexpected is because Ive lived most of my life in Hudson county and had never heard of it. You always hear about places I’m Hoboken and Jersey City but I’m here to tell you this cafe is IT. As someone who is a lover of food the flavors are delicious and the staff especially Tyler but all of them are TREMENDOUS. They’re always checking in on us, asking what more we need, giving us the best recommendations and lending us a warm smile. Today is my birthday and I’m choosing this cafe to hold my little brunch because when I go there I feel at home. I’m surprised to read the other reviews regarding service because unless they had different folks working there it couldn’t be further from the truth of what I’ve personally experience.
