I havenât done a google review in well over a year, maybe even two. But this place needed some serious recognition.
I was able to try the fried shrimp, fried crab claws, coleslaw, fries and hush puppiesâŚ.. let me start off with the coleslaw. Absolute perfection. Iâm picky with slaw, I donât like it real creamy or very sweet. It was still both but at the perfect amount. I think the veggies were shaved because they were stringy and so crunchy and good, I could have ate just the slaw and hush puppies and been ok. Puppies were small and bite size, only came with the claws but still good!
Now those clawsâŚ. OMGAAAHHH THE BEST IVE EVER HAD!!! I didnât bite into a single shell, nothing funky tasting, so super fresh and perfectly crisp and seasoned. They were big and meaty, I canât get over how good they were!! And the shrimp?! Didnât need any sauces with either of them. The shrimp was deveined and butterflied, fried with the perfect amount of crunch that didnât fall off or crumble, they were cookeddd toooo perfectionnnn and massive! I was so hungry and it was all so good, taking a picture was the furthest thing from my mind!! We DEVOURED our food, my goodness it was just THAT good!
Cons come in at the seating/waiting area. This place ainât no 5âď¸ steakhouse, thatâs for sure. It was cold and very uninviting with limited space. BUT it felt like I was getting the truest realest bayou experience by dining in. It honestly wouldnât have been the same if Iâd done a carry out order. You smell the fresh seafood as soon as you walk in, like walking up on the shrimp boat itself lol.
Service was great, loved the girl behind the counter. She had her work cut out for her, parking lot stayed full from the moment we got there till we left and folks kept pouring in.
Signs posted not to share food platters. Which really sucks because I had bypass surgery and canât eat a full meal so I usually eat a few bites from my kidsâ plates. The signs made me feel obligated to order my own which resulted in a large amount of wasted food because by then my kids finished theirs and they were too full to help with mine. Only con regarding food is that the fries werenât seasoned at all. A good Cajun salt or something, even seasoned salt would be a tremendous upgrade.
Coke was crisp, sweet and refreshing. Help your server and stack your messes when finished so she can easily and quickly clean the table for the next guests, seating space is tight and very limited.
10/10 recommend and Iâll be back 100x over and over again. Absolutely superb!!!! I will be telling EVERYbody I meet here about this place!...
Read moreWe are from the St. Louis area and were visiting family in Semmes, AL. We spent a few days on Dauphin Island and a couple we met while having drinks told us we HAD to go eat at Bayou Seafood Company. As we were leaving Dauphin Island, before heading back to Semmes, we stopped hereâŚand boy am I glad we did. I feel like when you see the place from the outside, you wouldnât expect the food to be good. You walk inside and there is a cork board with a paper menu on it- not many menu items but we went ahead and ordered the fried shrimp, fried fish and the all American cheeseburger. WOW- it was amazing!!! The cheeseburger was absolutely phenomenal- best burger Iâve ever had! The fried shrimp platter was delicious!!! The shrimp were so crispy, fresh and huge! The fries were delicious and we absolutely loved the spicy potatoes as a side. We loved it so much, we made sure to go back a couple days later so that we could enjoy it once more before heading back to St. Louis. We ordered the spicy boiled shrimp this time, along with the fried shrimp, burger, and chicken wings, and it was all SO good! This place is a MUST if looking for DELICIOUS food!!! Thank you Bayou Seafood Company!...

From the moment it hits the table, you know youâre in for something special. The shrimp are impressively large, fried to a deep golden crunch that shatters just enough before giving way to sweet, juicy meat inside. Each bite is perfectly seasonedâconfident but not overpoweringâletting the natural flavor of the shrimp shine through. These arenât filler shrimp; theyâre the kind you remember.
The sausage brings a smoky, savory backbone to the plate, rich and satisfying, while the potatoes soak up every bit of flavor around them. Whether crisped on the outside or tender all the way through, they round everything out in the best possible wayâcomforting, hearty, and deeply Southern.
What really seals the deal is the feeling of the place itself. Itâs small, out of the way, and exactly the kind of spot youâd drive past if you didnât know betterâbut once you do, you make a point to come back. Every single time. When Iâm down at the coast, this stop isnât optional; itâs tradition. Plates like this are the reason locals keep secretsâand why some are absolutely worth...
