Bayou Grill - We Love The Bayou — Restaurant in Bayou La Batre

The place is new.. it definitely needs some help.. it was very quiet.. all I could hear was loud kids.. and, the cooks in the back.. I could have been ok with some music.. maybe, some 90s music to set the old school vibe.. idk 80s 70s would be ok too.. this new music is not nostalgic enough.. This is why I posted so they can look at the reviews. and it can maybe help them with sells from local people.. The burger was bland.. the meat was good and cooked great. But, man does the flavor suck.. I would definitely throw that recipe away.. the bayou seafood has a better tasting burger.. and, that's your competition.. step it up.. The jalapeños was not even spicy.. if I order jalapeños I want them to be fresh and hot.. I like the pickled ones. But, not the sweet heat mild bull crap.. The fries was horrible.. I like the texture but the fries suck very bad. Come on people.. make a fry that is cooler.. like sidewinders.. be unique.. and, fast-food restaurants with your fries.. I would suggest adding different fries.. I with with a group of 11.. and, everyone agreed the fries need work..

And, if you add fries.. or maybe decide to keep the fries the original ones.. Then simply have some fry seasoning on the table for the customers. You can learn alot from the five guys fries.. I have not had there ice cream. But, hopefully it is not the soft serve bull crap like up the rd.. nestle is disgusting.. It is the south.. we do bluebell.. but, each of there own.. I look forward to seeing the future...

Food was good but pricey for local patrons. Service was good. I'm impressed with the responses to the reviews, by the owners (all about learning and improving). This was my first visit, and they have only been open a few months. Many of the things I read in the reviews seem to have been "fixed". Some things are still an issue. Our orders came out seperately. Maybe kitchen needs to hold first portion of the order from the window, until all parts are ready. Or an over-zealous "helper" wanted to get it out? It was not our waitress who brought the burger out before the crab balls. That being said, the crab balls and fried mushrooms were excellent! Both were crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Lots of crabmeat in the balls. The sauces (Bayou Sauce and a really good Ranch that tasted homemade) were delicious. The smashburger was good but $13?? Also, would love to see some homemade fries! I ordered a burger with “no garden” meaning no onion, lettuce, tomato, or pickle. Server repeated, “no garden” I affirmed yes. I was with two other people, we got our food separately— person 1 got theirs, person 2 got their order about 5 -10 minutes after that, I got my order last about ten minutes after person 2 got theirs. Meanwhile, the whole time we were there, server was frequently visiting with a young man at a table by themselves ignoring us. We had to flag her down for straws

My order came out wrong, took a few minutes to get server’s attention to send mine back - I checked the ticket - she marked only 2 of the 4 items to be taken off.

My order came out a second time with nothing on it — not even condiments — I tried to get servers attention to ask for mayo and mustard packets, gave up and ate it with just ketchup

Overall, burger was good, fries were freshly made, but the server and the wait time...
