Carlito's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Beaumont

We’d been traveling through some southern states and really needed some good Mexican food - specifically tacos. There were a bunch of restaurants listed but most were not open yet or were closed. I found Carlito’s and since it’s a pretty easy off then back on the Interstate we decided to give it a try. Thank goodness we did. It was 10:00 am and there were a few folks eating. Our server brought us menus, chips, and salsa almost immediately. Then she was back with our drinks and then our food. It tasted so good! The customers were friendly and our server was very on top of things as well as friendly and kind. We would definitely go back again.

So on today Carlito’s were off their game….i ordered the lunch enchiladas with an enchilada al la carte covered in chili con queso as I have twice times before….and I must say you all missed the mark…there was barely any queso on my enchiladas and the salsa was watered down matter of fact it was water (see photos)…the rice was hard and over cooked and the refried beans 🫘 were even loose like water…. I’m very disappointed and I must say I won’t be returning anytime soon the food was disgusting 🤮 to say the least and generally I would go and get my $14.00 back but I felt you all needed to know instead…. I hope someone from the restaurant reads the reviews if not it’s a shame!!! 👎🏾 down!!!! Oh and the chicken...

They reuse all of the food practically nothing is fresh literally nothing except maybe the quesadillas, fajitas. The place is falling apart the food is way overpriced its literally all from bags, I'm guessing if they made it at the beginning of the week and it isnt finished that day they reuse till it's gone and the people in the kitchen it's so bad for them it's not even up to code they are either dying from heat or coldness depending on the temperature but I worked there during the summer and it was hot all because Carlos wants to be cheap but they do clean every day and clean the kitchen once a week btw this is from a waiter that used to work there so like I'm not lying on...
