Jack's Pak-It — Restaurant in Beaumont

Nice little market in Beaumont, TX. Came here for work and ordered lunch while here; and boy am I glad I did!! They had a smothered pork chop special, and OMG, was it delicious!! The pork chops were smothered perfectly, and the gravy over everything took me back to when my Mama used to make it!! The macaroni and cheese were creamy and had a subtle peppery bite. I gladly would have paid anything they asked for the meal because it was that delicious, but they refused to take my money. Whenever I am in Beaumont for work, play, or whatever the case, I will definitely stop by and grab a plate of whatever they have on the menu for that day!! It's definitely the best southern home cookin' I've had in a very long time....

I grew up in Beaumont and was excited to pickup my Thanksgiving turkey dinner there. When I walked in I thought I was in a time warp pre Covid. Pre Texas state mask mandates. Pre dangerously high hospitalizations. Cashier, food preparation workers, and even the people that carry food to your car don't wear masks. I understand they had to close for several days due to an employee testing positive and they still don't wear masks after that. I guess they don't care about the safety of customers some that may be older or have preexisting conditions. Sorry but if they feel they can ignore a state mask mandate I have to wonder if they feel they are above other food safety rules too. No that is my last trip to...

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this store - family owned and super friendly. Butcher cut meats with no growth hormones, made in store sides that make supper a breeze. Just look at their homemade chicken pot pie! Just pop it in the oven and dinner done. The garlic bread ... no words!.... but I can tell you I've never had anything close to theirs - Amazing! My husband and I drive from Louisiana Just to shop there because we love it that much! Try it - you will NOT be disappointed.... and if you are, we just can't be...
