Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Beaumont

Not going back! BAD SERVICE!!! I saw the sign at the front door about don't be in a rush when you eat here because it takes time for fresh food. UNDERSTANDABLE I've work in the fresh food industry and know it takes for time to cook than it takes to microwave. Honestly had no problems with the kitchen. The waiter was rude, inattentive, and unkept. He looked a slob and acted that way too. It took 20min for our iced teas to be delivered to the table. We should have walked then but we had been to other LUPE locations in Houston and San Antonio and enjoy the food. After another 10min wait after our drinks arrived we finally got to order even though we told him we were ready when he took our drink order, we were trying to hurry along his glacial process. Finally we ordered and he thought he was psychic, he would try to tell you what you wanted while you were mid sentence. Then you'd have to correct him because when it came to the menu he was extremely unknowledgeable. He did this to everyone at our table again slowing what in most restaurants is a simple process. Finally our order was in the kitchen somewhere in between most of our glasses were empty, refills please! Our waiter was missing as he was most of the afternoon. Beside us was another table of people who had the same waiter they were where we were 30min before waiting on beverages. They gave up and left. We flagged down the waiter who was apologizing to them for their/our missing waiter. He was helpful and kind and got us refills. In fact we kind of made him take over our table. The food arrived in a timely manner probably thanks to our new friendly waiter and in comes the original rude waiter. Evidently mad he was at our new waiters competence he starts helping and SLAMMING plates down on the table. Needless to say, last straw. We told the kind waiter he was our waiter now and that he was getting the tip after that we saw the manager pulled the rude guy to the side. He never returned. This is now the second time I've had an issue the last 2 times I gotten food from this establishment. First I went late during the week to order Chicken Flautas and they had only put cheese inside. Was able to get that resolved, wont make the mistake of going late. Now we go last night and eat inside. Food was great, our server was horrible & couldn't make any recommendations when asked. We ordered 2 Platinum Margaritas & a modelo rita. The menu price was 13.95 for the platinum margaritas & 12.95 + $1 for the Modelo rita. We get the bill & we weren't charged for Platinum margaritas but rather a margarita (11.95) with a Platinum add on for a large (5.50). We were told it was more for a large when the manager on duty came over after we expressed an issue with our waiter. She stated that prices for large aren't on the menu. We tried to explain that if there is only one price on the menu and there are 2 sizes both prices need to be on the menu especially when we all had the same size drinks including the modelo rita but that rang up as the price stated on the menu. What further proves my point is that all the drinks brought to the table were the same size but only one rang up with the price stated on the menu. Our other issue was that we didn't order a margarita but rather a Platinum margarita which should have rung up as such so now I believe that margaritas we were brought didn't contain the better tequila we wanted. This would be proven with the headaches we woke up with this morning. Very unhappy with the experience last night and will have to stop eating there. To our waitress thank you for making our time at Lupe Tortilla memorable. We arrived at LT to celebrate Father's day, was seated right away and our waitress was there within minutes. Big smile on her face and ready to serve. Juliana's badge said "I'm Listening" and listening she did. My husband is allergic to tomatoes, so she ensured he had no tomatoes of any kind, even brought us out some cilantro lime cream sauce for our chips.

We both ordered similar things from the menu, so you would have had to listen closely to get the order right....she nailed it. My husband ordered the mixed sizzling chicken fajitas only, no pico de gallo, with guacamole, no sour cream, with refried beans. My order was a mixed half order of sizzling chicken and beef fajitas, with sour cream, pico de gallo, with sour cream and charro beans. Even the tortillas we ordered were different. She took the order correct and it was served correctly. We never once had to say oh that his, or ohh thats hers. I was so Super Impressed.

She was attentive, professional, and very kind. To top things off when she brought the bill, she also handed my husband a happy father's day gift. The day was made bright because of Juliana. I hope she is rewarded for her spectacular service.

I do have a few small critiques. The tables did not appear to be as clean as they could have been, and it would have been nice in addition to the cloth napkins to have a few paper napkins. However, the restaurant itself appeared clean, the silverware and plates were clean, and the restaurant smelled beautifully...not like seward which seems to be a problem here in Beaumont with some of the...
