We used to come here all the time, for special occasions or just for because, or to get take out. They used to have very good food and good customer service. Our last experience changed our mind about it forever, which is very unfortunate! We came to have dinner one evening: my mom, dad and myself for our weekly family dinner out. We all ordered our favorite dishes: my dad got the golden cashew dish, my mom got a red curry with tofu, and I got a chef's special with is the duck curry. The food was AWFUL. I am not understating this- the duck was very very dry, there was barely any curry, there were huge chunks of tomatos instead of the "baby tomatoes the menu promises". My dad's cashew dish was okay- he said he didn't have much flavor to it whatsover, which is usually not the case. The red curry was extremly spicy, even though during the order my mom asked for almost no spice, and it was cold. When we brought this to the attention of our server, she was very polite about it and said let me speak with the manager. We heard someone getting yelled at in the back, and our server came out almost in tears saying there is nothing they can do. We asked to speak with the manager, the server came back and basically told us the manager didn't want to talk to us. The server was very apologetic, and clearly was put in the middle of all of this. We insisted that the manager comes out here herself and tells us she doesn't want to talk to us or to explain why she won't hear about her customer's experience. The server just answered "I told her... that is all that I can do". Basically, we got presented with a full bill- which was almost $75 for all three of us with appetizers and drinks. The server asked if we wanted our frequent diner card stamped, and we answered there is no need becasue we will never come back. We have been having dinner at this restaurant for 8+ years, as our house is very close to their location, but tonight because of their attitude and behavior, bad tasting food and no ownership to their mistakes they lost very loyal customers. Its not just us three that won't be coming back, its me and my husband that won't be back, its my brother and his wife that won't be back. We have been very sure to tell all of our neighbors and friends to not go back there, after we tell them the experience we had- they completely understand why. They treated their loyal customers very poorly, refusing to even listen to us. We didn't want a free dinner, we wanted a good tasting dinner.. Neither my mom or I ate very much at all of our meals. We are extremely...
Read moreUnder the new owners and a new manager, Siam has faltered immensely in customer service and customer courtesy. Not only they make mistakes, they lie (particularly Levi - the table attendant,) ignore the customer and fight with them (especially their new manager) instead of trying to understand the customer perspective and owning up to their own mistakes.
The restaurant charged me for a take-out item I had ordered but they had not packed. When I pointed that out by phone after I got home, Levi told me he would call back. When I called again, Levi mentioned they will determine the next morning with the owner how to address the situation. I never got any call from them which was very unprofessional on top of the double mistakes of not packing the item I had ordered and then charging me for it.
Recently, my wife ordered some dinner and reminded them of their mistake. Levi said he remembered, but was very non-committal about correcting the mistake. When I picked up the food, they credited for the previous mistake with the attitude of doing me a favor, and flatly lied about calling me when I asked why they had not called me earlier to correct the issue. Moreover, in the middle of the conversation, the new restaurant manager unilaterally and discourteously decided to turn away from me to get payment from a new customer who had just walked in to get their take out. If that weren't enough, the manager (she) also began to fight with me when I asked how I could talk to the restaurant owner. Obviously, she did not want for the owners to know how poorly she was treating customers, and how unethically her staff - like Levi - were.
Making mistakes is human. We all understand that. But, we accept our mistakes ethically and respectfully. Not Levi and the new manager. They think they own customers who should thankfully accept the insulting and unethical behaviors of the restaurant staff.
My wife and I spend at least a thousand dollars per year on this restaurant alone. After this experience, we have decided to avoid it completely and persuade our friends to do the same.
Any business dealing directly with customers must maintain a high degree of professionalism and ethics to maintain trust and respect of customers. If not, then the beginning of its end is near if not already past. Siam's end...
Read moreWe just moved into the neighborhood and were so hopeful for this to be our go-to Thai spot with all the good reviews we saw online, but unfortunately, we will not be coming back here.
I want to start off by saying the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and the staff was friendly. We were excited (and hopeful) for an authentic Thai restaurant.
Food: Rice was not included with any of the entrees, including curry, which was a bit odd. The portions were fairly large, which justified the prices.
We ordered the papaya salad, Tom Yum noodle soup, basil fried rice, and crispy honey chicken with a side of sticky rice.
When we got our papaya salad, it was very refreshing but there was absolutely no spice, which again was odd. None of us have had a papaya salad without a little bit of spice, so that had us a bit worried about how the rest of our meal would go. Tom Yum noodle soup should be a staple of any Thai restaurant and it was more sweet than sour and there was NO spice to it as well. It was nothing to fave about and again, I was super disappointed with my soup.
The basil fried rice had barely any flavor and we had to ask for spices to make the dishes more flavorful.
My husband enjoyed his crispy honey chicken, but his sticky rice came out in a heated zip-lock bag and it was INEDIBLE. When he took the rice out of the ziplock bag, the rice came out as a brick and you couldn’t stick your fork into it to break apart to eat. The brick of sticky rice deterred us from wanting to order dessert, which is unusual for my family at a Thai restaurant. We love our mango sticky rice, but we were not going to try it here given the dinner experience.
I was extremely disappointed in the food they served here. We have grown up eating Thai food all around the country and in Thailand, and I have never had Thai food that didn’t have spice and flavor, and not being asked the spice level for each dish.
Would not recommend if you know good,...
