Dinner here had no redeeming qualities. Drinks were good and I liked that the TVs had variety instead of three things repeated across a dozen screens. The food was terrible and slow to come out. The service was terrible.
Ordering drinks, my partner asked about flavors or margarita available. The server said strawberry, peach and lime. They ordered peach. I said I'll have a lime. The server asked if I just wanted a whole lime. Not the margarita we'd just been talking about.
This was a portent of things to come.
We ordered the Cajun French onion mushrooms, French onion soups, a BBQ bacon and Bleu burger with tots and Mac&cheese.
The kitchen was very slow. The place was nearly empty when we came in and picked up a fair bit when we were there but I'd never have expected it could be so slow.
Drinks were good, well made with good flavor and reasonable potence.
The Cajun French onion mushrooms were served in broth and partially topped with cheese. They got old fast. No Cajun flavor, no French (or any) onion flavor. The broth just tasted like mushroom soup. Lacking in flavor.
Went a long time without another drink before being asked if I wanted another. I did. It was good.
Some time later, we received dinners and soups at the same time, rather than soup before dinner as you'd expect.
I've had French onion soup in a wide variety of quality levels. This managed to set a new record for me as the worst French onion I've ever had. Burnt croutons and barely any flavor left me pining for the mediocrity of Applebee's French onion soup.
Entrées were no better. Tater tots were not seasoned at all, something every fast food worker can at least get right. The food description touted thick cut bacon so having only a half strip of unremarkable bacon made me sigh before even trying a bite. MY burger was as unseasoned as my tots, a crime against beef. Again, the food quality was lower than fast food. I ate less than half of my burger and left hungry.
My partner's Mac and cheese was completely devoid of flavor. They ate almost none of it.
While trying to eat this I ran out of drink and was never offered another. I'd almost certainly have bought at least two more, given the opportunity. It was the one thing I had that tasted good.
After getting a box to bring all this food home for the dogs, we paid $70 for this abysmal expense and left and went to Zane's down the road and split a bowl of genuinely great, well seasoned food that made us wish we'd gone there in the first place.
I would never try this restaurant again. If a family member were hosting a group there and invited me, offering to pay for the food, I would politely decline, as no social time with family or friends would be worth having to suffer through...
Read moreFor context, one of is on a carnivore diet for health reasons. Previously we have been here and ordered ‘a la carte’ a chicken breast or a burger patty (with cheese and bacon) for less than the full cost of burger and a side.
Today we ordered the same way and the waitress said ok and made no mention of having to charge us full burger price on a day the special is burger and unlimited fries and one of was not even getting fries. (Literally every other restaurant, like ones in Toledo, have given us this information if a la carte was not an option)
If the waitress had said ‘ok so you know, just the patty will cost you the same as the burger and unlimited fries.’ We would have adjusted the order and just done plain chicken wings or something else.
With that context imagine our surprise when the bill arrived and the burger and unlimited fries one of us got was 9.99 and the patty with cheese and 1 piece of bacon broken in half no side at all, was 12.90 something.
It was then that our server Shelby seemed to have an attitude with us for even questioning it. Saying “well you got cheese and bacon” with a scowl). The cashier Caroline ended up lowering the patty (cheese an bacon) to the 9.99 and then Shelby told us that anyone who previously sold us a la carte protein was incorrect in doing so. (We probably should have atleast been offered the fries that were unlimited and included at that price, and we could have boxed em up for someone to eat later).
During our meal we were also given the free entertainment option which included watching the door host pull out his phone and show seemingly anyone that made eye contact with him pictures and discussing his fear of balding before he finished high school. Did you know women apparently don’t have to worry about hair loss (it was news to us too).
Tldr: waitress had an attitude for us even questioning something we have had before at that establishment, host was unprofessional. Again we try to support local but at this point we have no plans to return, well worth the drive to the numerous other places that at minimum will just add a patty to the normal burger fries meal and just put it on a separate plate.
Good luck...
Read moreMy daughter and I try different breakfast places on Sundays. We always try a local spots but was not impressed by this one. Walked in and waited at a "please wait to be seated" sign. After several minutes one of the many staff members yelled across the room to sit anywhere. There was nothing in the menu showing non-alcoholic beverage so the waitress just said she would bring water, not even bothering to mention other options or giving us the time to ask. Off she went to get water. Got an item that had choice of cheese, but waitress listed 2 and said well we have a lot? Not a big menu, not a deal breaker. However, waiting over 35 minutes for a simple breakfast menu is not when the dining room had a couple tables. Waitress never checked on us during that period or explained the delay. My food was cold when it arrived making the huge pile of cheddar cheese the chef put on a congealed mess. Was only given a fork. I didn't bother to call over anyone, they seemed busy with their phones on the floor showing each other things and tending to making a sales board? Looked at my receipt when I got home and was charged a higher price than was on the menu and was given incorrect change. Sadly...
