SMOKEHOUSE 734... if you've never been, you should absolutely try it. Been a long time since I reviewed this place... I'm kinda a regular so it just slips ya know. So located like 3mi north of the Great Stateline of Michigan and xhix, just before you reach Sterns Rd. We started off with Wings and Lollipops. If you've never had, OMG... either one is to die for. Vegetarians will actually contemplate on cheating, I swear 🤚🏼! Terry tried a dish that I've never had and he was smitten by it, The BBQ Pit Stop. It'a Mac-n-cheese, Brisket, Pulled Pork, BBQ beans and coleslaw drizzled in a sweet Bbq sauce sandwiched between two Andouille sausages and homemade cornbread. He said it reminded him of dishes in his younger days.... as for me, well... I opted for the BBQ Chicken Pizza, which has NEVER been a disappointment, but the focus here is on the PIT STOP Entree. Bar Service was great with Stephanie taking our order and keeping us quenched and Rachel, the Manager, being a runner for whatever we needed throughout our dinner. Can't say enough about this place other that I wished they carried more Michigan Brewed beer and less domestics 😛 AAA+++ If you haven't tried, do it & tell them MargaritaKevin sent ya 😉

Read the reviews and thought it was worth a chance. The service was great. And it’s a cool place. We orders pickle fries as an appetizer and they had potential to be really good, but we’re soggy. The dipping sauce they were served with was excellent, but the batter on the pickles was bland and the texture thru us off. Ordered pick 2 brisket and pulled pork with green beans and potato salad; 734 smash burger with potato salad; and kids cheeseburger with Mac and cheese. The potato salad was so delicious, it was fresh and had a smoky but subtle flavor. The Mac and cheese was good. The brisket was a bit tough to be honest and the pork was seasoned but it was bland. The green beans could be so much better, throw some smokehouse stuff to make them work. The smash burger was big. It had a lot of flavors, but overall was a let down. I could see how some people would love it. But we personally didn’t. I would try again and ordered different stuff with the exception of the potato salad, I would order that again, and come back for that alone, it was a hit.

Atmosphere was great, however was expecting to hear country music or blues music, something along that line however when I sat down Madonna was playing on the radio. Need to change that selection of music. The server was very pushy about getting appetizer order, when we got our appetizers which were fabulous, she was pushy to get our dinner order. Moving way too fast!!!! Let people enjoy their experience and food. Dinner was kinda disappointing for 18.99 you get choice of 3, so I got double brisket and half a chicken, portions are SMALL, 6 slices of brisket is all and a half a chicken which was the size of a breast at KFC. Chicken was SUPER DRY. I don't believe chicken should be smoked for exactly that reason. But hey tried it. They didn't offer greens as a dinner side and that was a bummer especially since you offer mac n chz, cornbread, coleslaw and potato salad. I asked about the green beans and waitress said they were plain old green beans, well blah I can get that out of a can at home. Waitress did stay on top of bringing beverages to the table however what I didn't like was your serving barbecue which includes sauces and mess and we had to ask for extra napkins which should be already on the table for customer use. The cornbread was not cornbread it was more like cornbread cake and it was barely room temperature with one little thing of margarine that was melted when I opened it. BUTTER... REAL BUTTER, stop serving margarine because it's cheaper. When we were done eating server brought us boxes and when she took the plates away she came back with our bills did not ask us if we were interested in any after dinner drinks or dessert so I had to summon her back to the table and tell her that I was not done and that I wanted to order a dessert. The peach cobbler was excellent. All I can say is if you want me to come back and spend $100 again for an hour and 15 minutes stay at tops really should step up your game a little bit. The vinegar base Q sauce (yellow) needs way more vinegar it tasted like honey mustard sauce, the mac n chz tasted strange, kinda had a smoke flavor to it, keep it simple . GREENS, GREENS, GREENS!!!!! Please add them to your menu it is totally fitting for your place and please get a southern cornbread recipe, sweet cornbread on top of all that other rich food is just too much. The coffee Q sauce was fantastic. Please either get some seasoned servers in your place or RETRAIN the ones you have, a manager should be walking around the restaurant talking to tables to find out how their experience is and how the food and service is. I have been a server for 30 years and experience is everything when it comes to waiting tables, these little girls have really no clue. You should have left the "sports bar" feeling for Sidelines. I really didn't see anyone in charge on the floor just a bunch of young girls, hopefully when we come back there will have been some changes made, the BBQ and room for people to enjoy it should be front and center NOT the bar which was front and center. Your booths are way too small and the tables were wobbly, not good...

This place has potential but needs to work out a few kinks in the service area.

Overall, the food was great once we were brought what we ordered. Apps came out fast and correct. Entrees, on the other hand, not so much. There were four of us and two entrees were set in front of my husband and I before we realized we must be getting another tables order. We alerted the waitress before the other two dinners were set down. They waitress proceeded to leave the incorrect entrees in front of us for approximately 10 minutes without coming back to communicate to us what was happening. We didn't touch the meals since they weren't ours. When she finally returned, she advised us that we were given another tables food and asked if we wanted to keep what we were given or receive what we originally ordered... I was confused by this because at this point, the meal in front of me would be cooled down. We told her we wanted what we ordered and told her to take the incorrect, untouched meals from the table. After another fifteen minutes or so, our actual meals arrived. Except this time mine was incorrect again. Not even close to what I ordered. She seemed a little overwhelmed when I advised her. So now three people at the table had the correct meals and I had nothing. Once again, another ten or so minutes went by with no communication and then finally my correct entree arrived. Our server never checked back on us to see if we were satisfied or if we needed anything. She never asked us if we needed boxes. She tried to take my husband plate when he still had half of his sandwich left... She was pleasant and polite, just not a good server. The kicked to end our experience is when she abruptly dropped our checks off to us without even asking if we wanted another drink, dessert or boxes. It was kind of awkward, to be honest. She also didn't prebus anything but was quick to run our cards. We eventually flagged down another server to get boxes.

Like I said, the food was good. Just work out the kinks with service. I've been in the industry for 20 years and I just thought y'all would...

My wife and I went for lunch yesterday. We were excited to go because it was our first time. Wasn't busy, thought it would be a decent time to go and get lunch and spend some time together. We walk into what is the smallest waiting area I've ever stood in and waited a good 3-5 mins for a hostess to seat us. Was fine no big deal. She proceeds to stick us right next to the the lobby doors from where we just stood. Mind you every time someone opens the door it's a blast of cold wind on a winter day. Still didn't ask to be reseated. We sit down and as I but my hands on the table the entire table tilts like one of those balancing games. It's has a bad wobble. Ok...now all that I didn't mind. We then proceeded to wait I'd say 5-7 mins feeling a tad uncomfortable and wondering if we're gonna get a server, by this point I wanted to walk out but I know my wife's been wanting to try the food, as have I we wait and then a server come blasting from behind. As she's walking by asked if we had been seen yet to which my response of nope I think startled her. I was getting frustrated by that point but we did order the pork belly burnt ends for an appetizer. My wife got the pick two brisket and ribs with green beans. I got the brisket and beans with fries. My wife didn't care for the ribs. She gave me a piece and when I bit into it there was a big tendon I pulled out so it was a little wierd. Felt a tad dry. The brisket we had was good but felt also a tad overcooked. Not unejoyable just not the consistency I was hoping for I guess. Our server Shayna was fine but it was just awkward and I guess I'll just chalk it up to an off day. Would like to try some diffrent menu option a diffrent day and hopefully have a...
