Bamboo We went to Bamboo in Bedford, Ma. Usually Jeff is our bartender and knows exactly what we like to order for food and drink. Today we had a different bartender who seemed lost. Our food was all under sized and a chicken finger had a black spot in the middle of it. The lo mein was dried out and was sent back. We complained to the manger in charge. He acknowledged that he was aware that the food quality was not the same and expressed that he has told the chefs. They didn’t want to fix the issues. Unfortunately we will not go back to Bamboo again… we have been patrons for years…
Update: Last attempt: Let’s start with we have been patrons of Bamboo at this location for over a decade. We went in to have One round of drinks as the food quality has gone down hill to the point of not ordering. We arrived at 9:35pm, the door sign says they close at 10pm. The website says they are open till 10:15pm and was confirmed by the manager. This is also before we read the review of rodents running around the restaurant from weeks before. We figured even with the poor quality of food that the Bamboo staff couldn’t screw up drinks! We were wrong again, the bartender “Jeff” said they were closing at 10pm and couldn’t serve drinks, 25 minutes before a posted 10pm close? As stated we have been patrons since well before the pandemic began when closing time was much later in the evening. It was total disrespect and a lack of dignity. Upon calling the manager after we arrived at another establishment, the Manager said they were open till 10:15pm and would take care of us in the future! We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt from previous poor experiences, will be taking our money 💰 to a business that respects us and values our time! Never again, it’s time to close up shop, poor food, poor service, total disregard for...
Read moreI used to go to Bamboo in Dedham all the time, and enjoyed my experiences there, so I figured the Bedford location would be a similar experience (or even better...because Bedford = wealthy town). But boy was I wrong. The most problematic thing was that a mouse was running around loose in the dining area (near the front of the restaurant), and two employees witnessed our reactions to the mouse, and did absolutely nothing. They just stood there and watched, completely unfazed. Of course this happened right as we were leaving. Had I seen it earlier, we would have been out of there right away.
Secondly, the food was just really bland, and I don't know why. I got the tofu and eggplant, and it tasted like nothing. The ginger ale I got was also very flat. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars to the food is because the Philadelphia roll I ordered from the sushi bar was pretty good.
And I want to add that while it was a quiet night when we were there, the hostess was sitting at a table eating her dinner not far away from us, watching something on her phone loudly. And then would get up each time someone walked through the door. Get someone to cover you while you're eating, and take your meal to another part of the restaurant, away from customers. Not very professional. The staff appear to be zombified and not into their jobs at all.
In summary: rodents, lousy food, and lackluster service = never stepping foot into...
Read moreI had ordered a sushi plate from here, specifically the Spicy Maki Combo. It was mediocre, unfortunately, and the presentation and crafting was very sloppy. On top of that, the bartender had given me water in a dirty glass (I could see particulates floating around) and a slightly dirty appetizer plate. It was not the worst sushi in the world, but I feel as if they could have done better.
The service was bad. The bartender who served me was okay, but he seemed to be hurried and inattentive, even though it was mostly empty. Maybe I just caught the poor guy on a bad day. I hope I am not being mean. On the other hand, the female employee behind the front welcoming desk (and on the phone) was rude and curt in her tone. I personally did not mind her attitude too much, but it seemed to be a turn-off for other patrons coming in and out of the restaurant.
I suppose I am a fool for ordering sushi at what is mainly advertised as a Chinese restaurant. Perhaps their Chinese dishes would have been better, though from what I gathered from other patrons, I would not exactly call it "fine cuisine", as they have promoted.
As for the atmosphere, the interior was pretty to look at, but with the issues I had experienced, it did not feel welcoming at all.
I am sure their Chinese foods are the better option, especially for takeout, but this first-time experience just left a bad impression on me and I most likely will not be...
