Read moreI used to love this tavern and have frequented it many times over the years. Last night I went there with my husband for date night (a rare occurrence!). We ordered the slider special and, as we were eating it, I noticed there was mold on the buns. We told the waitress, she apologized and sent them back. New ones came out and you could tell they were rushed as the bison was still bloody. By then we were starving, so just ate them. My disappointment came when first no manager came out to apologize for moldy buns, and then when the bill came, nothing had been taken off as restitution. We paid $11 for three sliders plus an extra $4 for an additional one. I would think after moldy buns (one of which my husband ate without knowing!) at least a round of drinks, or the extra slider would have been provided gratuitously. I have been to places where lesser mistakes have been made and was not charged. The waitress was kind and we left her a good tip since it was not her fault, but I will be hard pressed to come back here, and will likely not recommend it to anyone again (and I have praised it many times to friends looking for places to eat). Again, the service was good (hence the "fair" rating), but the way this incident was handled was surprising, and not expected for such a well-known...
Read moreRiver Road Tavern in Bedford, New Hampshire for a few pints & a delicious burger. I had been here a couple times previously & always enjoyed their excellent craft beer selection. This time around I got the NELSON SAUVIN DDH OJ IPA from Lone Pine Brewing Company, OKTOBERFEST Marzen from Black Hog Brewing Company & STAR MATTER IPA from Branch and Blade Brewing. The tap list here isn't as crazy as some places, but they also have a large selection of cans, which is where I usually find the beers I haven't tried. 🍻🔥
The restaurant itself isn't to huge, but that adds to the charm since theres so much eye candy & stuff to look at everywhere you turn your head. I got a bacon cheeseburger for dinner & it was definitely really good. My friend scooped a fried chicken sandwich, which we cut in half & split as well. The chicken sandwich was good, a little more dry than I would like, but it was good. I didn't get the bartenders name, but she was super friendly & accommodating. Great experience overall & I'll definitely be back eventually! 🍻🍻🔥☘
They're on Untappd as well so it's easy to stay up to date on the beer they get. 🍺🍻
