When we arrived at the restaurant, no one told us that the kitchen was backed up until 45 minutes after we had ordered. Seems they had two big parties that tied it up: they should have told us. Took over an hour and fifteen minutes after order for the food to arrive. That's problem #1: if they are backed up and can't provide good service, they should tell people so that they can either decide to wait or make a graceful exit. Problem #2: tonight, a group of 3 adult couples with 7-8 kids between 4 and 8 set their children up OUTSIDE the restaurant where we were sitting and then went inside, where they could not see the kids. The atmosphere rapidly became elementary school cafeteria with no monitors. Putting aside the disgraceful act by these "parents" (ie, placing their kids outside to bother others so that they could visit in peace inside) the restaurant manager did not intercede and say "hey, customer, please mind your kids who are crawling from table to table outside bothering other customers." The restaurant owner owes his customers a peaceful experience: not telling the parents to either bring their kids inside where they could see them or to leave was a huge slap in the face of the families seated outside. I'm not here to tell other people's children to behave, and I did not. But the manager of the restaurant probably lost a lot of customers by letting these checked-out parents actions destroy the dining experience that their kids ruined for others. If you're not going to make your kid behave in a restaurant, don't inflict them on others. And if the manager is going to sanction this by not insisting the parents actually parent their children, then they deserve to lose business. In spite of all that, the food was good. Pity, we won't...
Read moreReally, really good food and very affordable. My family and I especially enjoy the lasagna larger party meals availible. Bread is amazing too... like really amazing, and everyone is super friendly.
The only negative thing that I have to say is that I've ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese three times now and the first time I had it... it was freaking incredible. Instead of your traditional Spaghetti it had a thicker noodle that was the real deal like home-freaking-made and so darn good! So the next time I was in I ordered it again, but the noodles were not the same. It was really disappointing because I was really looking forward to it and instead I was met with your traditional Spaghetti noodles. Which was not nearly as fresh nor did they taste home-made at all. The meat and Bolognese sauce were great but the noodles were pretty sub-standard.
I ordered it a third time and the noodles were the same as the second time I ordered the dish just not home-made tasting, and not cooked properly. That being said the Bolognese meat and sauce was great... so if they could just nail down their pasta like the first time they made it... I would be coming here a lot more.
That being said I really do like their affordability and especially their larger catering meals there are like two restaurants that are affordable and pretty good in the area... Giovanni's Table, and Maudies Tex-Mex... and that's it sadly. Anyways that's it for this...
Read moreOur visit to this true Italian gem in Austin, TX, was an experience to remember. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we felt the warmth and authenticity of a family-run establishment. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with staff who knew their customers by name and treated everyone like family. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality, and it made the dining experience all the more special.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options for vegetarians—a true delight for someone like me. What impressed us most was the staff’s willingness to make any dish vegetarian upon request. Their flexibility and understanding of dietary preferences made the meal even more enjoyable, allowing us to savor the rich, authentic Italian flavors without compromise.
The outdoor seating area was another highlight. Spacious and well-arranged, it offered a perfect setting to enjoy the pleasant Austin weather. We were fortunate enough to visit during the Olympics, and the big TVs outside added an exciting element to the evening. It seems like a fantastic spot to catch some sports while enjoying great food with friends.
Overall, this restaurant offers a blend of exceptional food, friendly service, and a welcoming ambiance that feels like home. Whether you’re looking for a casual dinner with friends or a place to enjoy a good game, this is a spot you won’t want to...
