Great food. I am a son of a cook specializing in Latin cuisine. The #5 is what I ordered. I don't have high expectations for food as I taste the best Austin, CA, Houston, Mexico City, and others have to offer. I'm blessed with the opportunity to taste the pride of great chefs. The Carne Guisada was soft, tender, and pleasant to eat. The sauce was well balanced and not too over salted. The rice was well cooked and delicious. The overall atmosphere was nice, and the artwork in the furniture opened up delicate and welcomed conversation. However, the only variable to consider, as important as it is, was the customer service. No apologies were needed, but the waitress apologized. No explanation was needed, but there was an excuse. " I'm going through a breakup." Is that an invitation to be a rebound? Should I feel sorry for you? Should I understand? Should I tip you more or tip you at all? Being in a high level line of work involving upmost customer service myself, I understand more than most how important it is to feel the vibe of the customer and go with the flow. If the customer is enjoying themselves, don't apologize for anything, ask them if they are ready for their check. If they seem upset or are asking for their check, offer to get to it right away. Nothing would have been mentioned in this review, but when multiple customers are standing at the register for 7+ minutes, and 3+ employees are just standing around a phone and talking dirty about the recent "breakup", instead of taking care of their customers, it shows the immaturity of the employees and the lack of pride they have for themselves as individuals. Have more class, and pride, and expectations for yourself, and greater things will happen. I hope this is read by management, and that they care enough about their employees to better them, not bring them down. Thank you, I will visit in the future around the same time to see if the experience...
Read moreWhen I choose a restaurant and stick to it, it is because of the hospitality from the employees and great food. I found it in La Tequila! I was hoping this would be my forever treat to myself. The mini tacos are superb and give a great portion. I had met a very nice waitress by the name of Priscilla. She has always been very attentive and seems to be in great spirits. Asking anything from her was a joy and my experience dining in couldn't be better. I am disappointed to say that it has been great while it lasted but I no longer will be a continuing customer. I came in this morning only to find out Priscilla wouldn't be available and is no longer working their. An employee said she was let go and I think there is a better way for employees to address the situation to customers. There is a waitress there that I don't fancy because she is rude, doesn't pay attention, and seems more interested joking around with employees than waiting on the tables. I had her the first time they opened but Priscilla jumped in and took over. That is the only reason I stayed. Ill take my business down the street to La Herradura instead to know I am receiving all that I look for in a restaurant.
Priscilla, I wish you the best on your endeavors and I appreciate the...
Read moreBAD FOOD AND IF YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT IT, THE MANAGER WILL CALL THD POLICE! 🚨🚨🚨
We visited this restaurant as a group of 4 adults and 3 three kids. We ordered a variety of things like, caldo de res, beef enchiladas, ribeye steak, carnitas, kids pizza and kids corn dog. The waitress was great! The enchiladas and rice were good and that was about it. Everything else was tasteless or not cooked well. They added 20% gratuity to the bill. My sister spoke with the waitress about the quality of the food and then when she asked to speak with manager, he came out in a huff and said that he overheard my sister yelling at the waitress. The waitress and my sister both denied that anybody was yelling. He said the was going to ask us to leave and that he was going to call the police. Seriously, nobody was yelling or being disrespectful. Even other patrons were surprised and agreed that nobody was yelling.
It was really unfortunate because we remember the food being really good...
