The BV Bar and Grill was positively horrible tonight! When we have eaten there in the past, the food was delicious and the service was acceptable. We went back for the Prime Rib special again tonight because we were so impressed previously. We ordered 1 medium rare, 1 medium, and 1 medium well. (The fourth meal was country fried chicken-which was very good.) The medium rare came out completely rare. There was a tiny sear on the very outside with a completely red middle and cool center. It was also somehow disgustingly slimy. The medium and the medium well were both cooked so long they were completely dry and actually crumbled. They were all nearly impossible to chew and completely bland and flavorless. Even the mashed potatoes we had previously raved about lacked even a hint of salt or flavor tonight. After just a couple bites, we spoke to the manager and explained the issues. His attitude was quite condescending from the beginning. He informed us that this was “their version of medium rare” but he would be happy to get it more done if we liked. He said they are almost out of prime rib (an hour after they began serving it with a nearly empty dining room) but that he would replace the other two with something else. Before we could make any kind of reply, he left. The waitress then came back with three menus and gave to us. Then she took the two fully cooked prime rib and asked if we wanted a box for the rare one. I said no, we don't want that one either. It's inedible. She said they would not be doing anything with that one because there was nothing wrong with it. I told her never-mind then. We will not be ordering new meals for anyone. Please bring the check for the chicken and the rare meal. Some time later, she came back with the check (still nearly $50 with all but one belly still empty) She did not come back for our card, so we took it to the front to pay. The manager was there and I told him that we were extremely disappointed and that it was delicious last time, but they really messed it up this time and it was ridiculous that I was paying this much for just one person to eat. He did finally at this point say he was sorry for the mix up. I pointed out that it was not a mix up. It was a mistake on their part that he was refusing to correct. He told us to quit making a big scene and that we could call his manager. We were not making a big scene. Voices were never raised. Other diners were probably not even aware of the issue until we got up to leave without eating. We will definitely take him up on his offer to go above him though. I understand 100% that mistakes happen and I am generally willing to give second chances. However, it is not a wise business choice to refuse to admit to or to fully correct your mistakes. We will...
Read moreLet me begin by saying i am a regular to the establishment and i have seen the staff at their best and at their worst. Generally speaking , even at their worst they are still quite good. This review is about this one particular visit and this one individual. The Waitress that wears black bandana, has long black hair and several lip rings is HORRIBLE. I watched the table next to me get turned around twice in the time I was able to get served. I watched a family come in roughly 10 minutes after us get their drinks and alcohol before we even got to order drinks. It took more than 20 minutes to find out the bar was unable to make one of the drinks due to it being discontinued which wasnt a big deal, we just chose a different drink, but the server literally said she was doing us a favor by not putting it in our check! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?!? It literally took 30 minutes to get the check or even see our server again after finishing our food. She blamed it on some other tables in a nother section "holding her hostage" but i watched her service 3 tables RIGHT NEXT TO ME while i sat there with my wallet out ready to pay. Not so much as a check up when she was 3ft from me and eye contact was made. To sum it up she took what is generally a 45 minute dinner from sit to leave and turned it into nearly 2 hours. While I will without a doubt continue to come here but I will not under any circumstances sit in this person's...
Read moreIt could have been sooo much better. The potential is there. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my wife the London broil. She asked for double mash in place of the vegetable medly, it still comes out with vegetables. My grits could have been wonderful if the would have started by adding salt to the cooking process. Instead I decide to just add some beer cheese sauce to it that we had left over from the appetizer, so it's etable, so waitress comes back this time and says the chef said no substituting mass for veggies, we have to pay extra for more mash. At this point I'm offended with them and hand the waitress my grits and shrimp and tell her, u can tell the chef, he can keep his grits and I will pay for it once it is seasoned.... Neither the chef or manager comes to talk to me. The waitress never brings refills as requested, so I have to go to the bar to get my own drinks. At this point the manager brings my wife some mash, but still don't talk or apologize to me, instead, I sit there watching my wife eat till the check comes, which btw still has my meal as a charge on there. I tell waitress, I'm not paying for food I didn't eat. She has the manager take it off, he STILL don't come talk to me. After we pay I get to talk to manager, and defends his position, and tells me to have a great evening... Needless to say, I was very disappointed, I was really hoping it would be better than the...
