We gave Ruby’s Family Restaurant a try here in town since we have tried the one in Shakopee before and they have good food and astounding service. Our first impression here on a Saturday morning was that they were short staffed. Hostess did not even welcome us, no words coming out of her mouth so I had to say good morning to her since it felt awkward. The only few words she said was “table for two?” And she sat us down. And again the waitress comes and she did not welcome us. She should have said something like: Welcome to Ruby’s! What would you like to drink? The only words she said was “what would you guys like to drink?” We told her we wanted coffee, she gave us our menu and came right back with our coffee. She took our order and still not much interaction with us her customers…we told her she forgot part of our order, she brought it quick and slide it on the table without saying a word to us or apologizing? No manners? At least say something like “sorry about that!” At the end she brought us our check and again she did not say at least “thank you for coming in!” And we saw that the waitress seemed to be running the whole show. There were no other waitresses around. We noticed that she was doing the same thing to all the other customers. She was running around and it seemed that she was under pressure, no wonder she had no time to be friendly with her customers. We saw the manager behind the counter just standing there instead of helping… Food was good can’t complain, but Ruby’s needs more staff and some serious training and dedication. We are giving this restaurant a second try. Not trying to put this restaurant down, just hoping they get better at...
Read moreLoved it! Applause My hubby and I visited for our 14th wedding anniversary. This was the first time we've eaten here since it opened. We had a lovely time! Jayne was our server, and she was phenomenal! Super friendly, welcoming, and spunky! It was obvious that she enjoys her job, and it was lovely chatting with her when she checked in on us. The decor is simple and warm, and it feels very open. There is a nice variety of seating options, with tables, booths, and countertops (where you can watch the cooks in action)! It has a large parking lot with handicap accessible parking, entrance, and seating. I ordered the turkey club with fries, which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! It had avocado on it, which gave it a nice freshness. My hubby ordered the spicy jalapeno beef omelet. The jalapenos had a nice heat level and gave it a fresh taste as well. The beef they used was very tender! The food came out quickly and hot! It was all around a beautiful meal, well-prepared, and served with care. It's great to see this space in the right hands again! We will visit many more times in the future, and we'll be spreading the word about Ruby's to family...
Read moreThe food is average that's about it. They have an open face I call it a beef commercial enough beef but very little for potatoes. The bread should be put under the beef knot on the side so weird. No breakfast specials noon specials no evening specials.:-(today is July 27th 2024 my wife had a fish dinner and french fries her fish dinner was raw was not cooked thoroughly they only knocked off a $1.50 when it wasn't even worth 64 cents the whole meal I've been there four or five times.and today so she enjoyed the french fries with no fish that was raw undercooked they would not do nothing about it like I said before it won't be long they will be out of business. Maybe he doesn't care about going out of business it's a good tax write-off for him or her? The waiter was not very professional when you have proof that fish was undercooked don't you think they would knock that all off except for the french fries and pop? So running a corrupt restaurant won't be...
