La Cabañita Mex — Restaurant in Bellevue

Mediocre, I came from southern California and I'm Mexican (actually been in Mexico). This food is just sad. We had the vegetable enchiladas & vegetable wet burrito. Enchilada sauce was just watered down tomato paste (no seasoning what so ever). Green rice was ok. All these pictures I see have refried beans...we got whole beans (maybe because we had vegetarian plates), but the beans where bla...no flavor at all. My friend & I had dinner in Bellevue at the bar. Our server was friendly, but neglected to mention that the Heinekin beer they carry is Alcohol Free! We didn't know they made NA beer! It wasn't bad, a bit less robust flavor. I ordered the carnitas at my waiter's recommendation & it was delicious- moist & flavorful. I took enough home for a second meal. My friend ordered a specialty shrimp & bacon dish that was equally tasty & also provided a second meal. You can't beat thos restaurant for price, quality & flavor. I would choose it...

Stopped in with friends after that long 15 hour drive from SoCalif.excellent authentic food. Great salsa. Chips were the best freshly made and warm. Friendly staff. Moderately busy but wait for food is average and allows for good time to chat and inhale a cold beverage. Decent menu regardless of what you order. You can order ahead or take out. They are a small chain so as you head north to Sun Valley you can find them just 3-4 miles apart in Bellevue, Hailey, and Ketchum. Another location in Meridian. Small but clean...
