Got take out for dinner. Good to great flavor, slightly overpriced for some dishes.
Crab Rangoon (4/5) It was prettty good for the price. Flavor was good. Size was a bit smaller than some of you might be used to. But at 5 dollars for 5 pieces it's fair and I would get it again because I like Rangoon.
Spring rolls (3/5) At 8 dollars for 3 pieces I'd only get them if I really loved spring rolls like that but I ended up eating them because the wife ordered them. They were pretty good but I haven't eaten spring rolls in years because they aren't my favorite.
Thai style fried chicken wings (4.5/5) Good fried wings with minimal seasoning. The sauce the come with is good and sweet. I got 6 pieces for 7 bucks and I'd get it again for sure.
Sesame chicken (4.25/5) Split between my 7 and 10 yr old. It was enough for them to get full but they don't normally eat a lot anyway. My 7yr old said she loved it and my 10yr old said it was good. I tasted what remained and I enjoyed it so for 11.99 I'd get it again for the kids to split- or even just 1 for myself.
Fried shrimp & pepper steak (3.5/5) Combining these because the consensus was the same. Good flavor on both. But for 12.99 for a shrimp dish i would've liked to have more than 7 shrimp. It came with 7 (freezer) Fries, and 7 fried broccoli. The same for the pepper steak, lots of onions w/ thin pieces of meat. Either drop the price down a dollar or two or increase the quantity ~20%.
For the record the main dishes would probably be enough food to get you full if you eat "normal" portion sizes. But you could get almost double the quantity for 20-30% less price with almost as good flavors from a close by Asian restaurant (if you're not picky with flavor and want more quantity for price).
All in all I got 3 sides, technically 4 as the fried shrimp is a side (but $12.99 for 7 shrimp need I remind you), and 3 main dishes for 62 dollars. Not bad but not as good as it could've been for the quantities in a couple of the dishes.
Overall I give Siam Cuisine a 3.8/5 for my first experience (rounded up to 4). There are other dishes I want to try from here so I will update with more when I order again.
If you're on a budget but want take out get sechwan sunrise as you can split your meals from...
Read moreEDIT: Since I initially submitted this review 4 days ago, I've sat down to eat at the restaurant, and ordered from DoorDash again. Both experiences were excellent. When I sat down, I asked about spice levels. The gentleman said they go up to 10. This option was not listed in DoorDash, but I put it in the special instructions, and they added the spice for me. I ordered the same cashew chicken each time for comparison. The portion sizes were great the second and third time. But each time the meal was just simply delicious. This will be added to the rotation, and I'm excited to try their other items!
Original: Ordered delivery through DoorDash. Food was ready to go quickly. My drink wasn't given to the driver apparently, but DoorDash resolved that issue by refunding the drink. Not a huge concern.
The food.
I ordered the cashew nut chicken. When I opened the to go box, I was a bit saddened to see the portion size. It has the normal two scoops of rice, but I probably had about 7 total pieces of chicken, and believe me when I say they were not big pieces of chicken.
So you're probably wondering why I'm still giving it 4 stars? The bit of food I did have was absolutely delicious. Amazing flavors. All the veggies were cooked just right. The sauce was great. I couldn't imagine this dish being any better. Exactly what I needed. I just wish there was more. Looking at the pictures in other reviews, I must've just had bad luck. Everyone else's pictures look like a normal size portion. I will definitely order here again, but maybe I'll stop in instead of getting...
Read moreNot your white table cloth type place, more folksy and down home dinner feel to the restaurant. The food is what sets this place apart from other Thai Restaurants I have experienced since moving to the Mid-West. Most of those have watered down the flavor in order to appeal to the Meat and Taters tastebuds of middle America. I ordered Tom Yum Goong from a place in Lincoln and it might as well have been Grandma Jensen's chicken soup, we threw most of it out. No Flavor.
Siam Cuisine is authentic and reminds me of the Thai Food I have had in California, Oregon and Florida. I ordered the Green Curry with Pork Level 7 on spice, and it was absolutely delicious and I will be coming back to Siam Cuisine for my Thai fix. My partner ordered Drunken Noodles Combination (not on the menu, just ask) with spice level of 5. She was very pleased with Siam Cuisine generous portion and flavor. More flavor than the place in Lincoln, no doubt.
If I had only one cuisine to choose from, it would be Asian. If I had to choose between Thai, Chinese or Japanese ... I would choose Thai.
The owners are also very kind, hospitable and gracious.
Siam Cuisine is my kind of place. Exceptional Thai Food,...
