Where do I even start? I am from Dallas and I love Benihana. I am temporarily in Belton so when I crave sushi or fried rice I visit this place. First couple of times were so so. The waiters all just stand around on the walls and counters utilizing their cellphones, eating, playing, or talking. They aren't attentive at all. However, I did continue to go because the food was still decent and of course there are not many choices for food places in Belton.
After last night I will NEVER EVER patronage any establishment with this name and I recommend that you do not either. It took 35-40 minutes for my friend and I sushi to come out. When it arrived the presentation was rushed and there was barely any eel sauce. I did not complain, I just asked for extra eel sauce to the side. 5 minutes later out comes our fried rice. My fried rice tasted and smelled like lighter fluid/gas. I asked my friend to taste it first before I said something to the waiter and she agreed that it did indeed taste like lighter fluid/gas. I informed the waiter and he gave a non empathetic apology. After staring at him for so long he offered to take it back and have them remake. The new one was much better and the taste was gone. We pay and leave. On the receipt they already filled the tip in as 0.00. I no longer leave tips on my card after an issue here in town with another food establishment in Temple/Belton who gave themselves more than the tip that I left.
Upon leaving, out runs the manager, Christian, with my friend and I receipt payment books. He then asks me personally why I did not leave a tip. He goes on to say that I never leave a tip when I come here. How does he know this? Because I always use a card. While others are looking at the interaction between us two, Christian continues to go back and forth with me. When he sees how infuriated I am he then tries to "rephrase" his question as though he is asking about customer service. This man has never spoke to me and he never even came over during the course of my meal to see "how things were going?" I informed him that to settle the matter I will NEVER patronage this establishment ever again and I will post my experience tonight on YELP and other social media outlets. He continued to loud talk me and go back and forth. Eventually, I just walked off to avoid the police being called.
My friend went back in to get his name and he began to tell her that he asks other customers as well why they spend 100+ dollars but do not leave a tip. In addition he tells my friend that if I would like an apology that I can come back in to his establishment.
I can not even begin to tell you how disgusted I am with this place and clearly from these reviews I am not the only one. Please...
Read moreWith the construction going on and coming from Salado, it was a bit of a hassle to get there but we managed. The outside is next to a bingo place so it looks a little deceiving until you go inside. Fantastic layout and plenty of room. Hibachi grills and bar area are also on the sides. The front desk was nice and seated us and the waitress was decent but not, in my opinion, completely thrilled to be there. It was empty when we went so I would have thought a better attitude but overall she was still professional.
Prices are a bit high but one would expect that entering a place like this where you are getting as close to authentic Japanese food as it comes. Shogun in Harker Heights is, in my opinion, better but we wanted to try somewhere a bit different.
Both meals we had were good and the portions were appropriate for the setting we were in. The time from ordering to getting the meal was exceptional and everything was nice and hot. Chopsticks are provided as assumed as well as silverware for those that prefer otherwise.
I take a star off due to the waitress, she could have been a bit more cheerful but none the less was professional and only came around when she thought she needed to which was right on par. The only other issue is the exterior. They could have done something to separate themselves from the bingo hall but they didn't. To me, it appears they spent most of their budget on the interior and left it at that. I have to wonder what else might be left "at that" too. In the end, I recommend...
Read moreWent to Nami last night was a total failure after being told Hibachi was unavailable and there was only tables and we could be seated immediately we ended up waiting 20+ minutes to be seated okay fine then before we finally got seated the host were all kind of standing around looking lost. Also I do believe it's the host job to say when the menu itself it's not a full menu even a waitress could have made that clear we were unaware of that whenever we were seated of course we had already ordered drinks by the time I had realized I told my husband let's just go ahead and go because we did have our kids with us who are very well behaved but the only rice they said that they had available was fried rice the only thing my kids wanted to eat was pretty simple teriyaki chicken and steamed rice so we didn't feel like paying for something that we knew the kids wouldn't enjoy or eat so we decided to leave my husband walked out first with the kids and of course I was still sitting at the table and I have two Asian people running at me as if we're not going to pay I handed her a 20 walked out which was a 9$ tip for nothing they are extremely happy to take my money but at no point did they ever do their jobs this is why I don't like to eat anywhere in Belton the service sucks the people are rude and the only thing they want from you is...
