Tried Ray’s for the first time and was seriously impressed. I ordered a hot sandwich (cheesesteak on a garlic roll), a cold sandwich (honey turkey), and an order of buffalo wings.
The cheesesteak was the standout. Served on house-made garlic bread that’s toasted just right—crispy outside, soft inside—it struck a perfect balance. Just a hint of garlic, high-quality meat, and the way the meat, cheese, onions, and peppers were all melded together... You can tell this sandwich was built by a veteran—someone who knows the difference between “loaded” and “well-crafted.” Some steak sandwiches are forgettable; others go overboard. Ray’s hits that artisanal sweet spot: bold, balanced, and deeply satisfying.
The cold sub used the same roll, this time ungarliced and untoasted—which works, because it’s good bread. It came with a generous amount of meat and cheese, and a restrained hand on the condiments. If you're into heavier toppings, ask for more, but I’d suggest trusting Ray’s default on your first visit.
The wings were solid—nothing wild, but respectable. I wasn’t sure what sauce was used (I’m a Griffin’s guy myself), but Ray mentioned he could make them extra hot next time. I’m definitely taking him up on that.
The shop is spotless, the staff is friendly, and the service is fast. Even though it’s about 20 minutes from me, this place is probably landing in my top two...
