So I would hate to sound insensitive to the Covid but I have to spread my experience.
I almost never leave a review so bear with me.
I went to golden corral to celebrate my son's B-day . Everything went like usual a few new rules Rule #1 waiters now brings you your food. I'm only going to state this rule because for me it seems harmless a little hassle but no big deal. So we get seated and when we do we have little menus to choose the food that is available all in all it's not a huge selection to start off with but it's the Covid so not so bad. Going back I had a party of 10 so they charged gratuity fro the gate and like usual I'm ok with that because I always pay my waiters. So we order our drinks and they only have soda and tea. Ok again not that bad but ok. Now for the kids they have again tea and soda my kids drink water milk or apple juice . They had none we make due with tea hoping to God they don't kick it back in a frenzy. So after we tested the tea. We order our food . We waited almost an hour to get food. Now usual I expect that but I went to a buffet to get a plethora of food immediately we had waited to eat all day for this moment the waiter who I can tell has never waited at any real place couldn't even figure out what we order and she had a paper that we all had to fill out individually of what we wanted to eat off their limited window. And here is the kicker the serves all of their desert refrigerator cold I mean pie cookies cupcakes you name it. Yes cold Pie it crushed my soul. I payed full price for my meal and my drink and paid separately for the waiter and I feel swindled. I have had the worse experience ever. Until golden corral figure out what they want to do be a buffet that serves quickly or a restaurant that takes order the in between is horrible I won't be going back unless something changes drastically. To those out there new ready it's not the same and be ready for a heck of...
Read moreAre these people kidding about a good review at this place? Do not eat here if you value a clean place and decent food. I went there for the first time with my family and I'll never go back again. First, the atmosphere is mostly black minority and white trash tattooed women with biracial kids. I didn't have a problem with this because they were civilized.
The problem is that the food was not available in the bins to take, because they were empty most of the time. The cook was busy cooking steaks, for a 10 minute wait, and ribs were not ready, and when they were ready, there was one rack, and they were not cut to take. The roast was not carved and no one was available to carve it. It was like waiting in a welfare relief line for food if you wanted any meat.
Many of the food trays had little food in them, and were not replenished in any timely manner. The vegetables had too much sugar and salt added to them. I was surprised they had asparagus, which is in season now, but their asparagus was thinner than a string bean and of poor quality. The salad area was ok and food seemed fresh, although the meat pieces looked so artificially colored, it was scary. All I wanted was some fresh fruit, which looked water-logged, and the mixed fruit was something out of a can in over-saturated in liquid.
The food plates were cracked and badly chipped on the rims. Dangerous and unsanitary. It wouldn't surprise me if this place had several health violations. It seemed that the people there were happy shoveling any type of food into themselves. It felt like a charity place in which to eat and the food was sub-standard. I guess with the added sugar and salt on everything, the poor quality of food is masked. Who knows what else they are adding.
Bottom line: scary atmosphere, unsanitary, poor food quality, unavailable food, not worth the price or...
Read moreGolden Corral buffet in Bensalem, PA wasn't all that great. Food was good but the steak chef was extremely rude, vulgar language in front on families with small children and had this attitude as if we were bothering him. Many patrons other than myself noticed these actions. Apparently when you purchase a lunch meal you have to pay extra for steak. No problem I completely understand. People weren't aware that you had to give your steak ticket to your waitress for her to go get your steak and bring it to your table. Normally you would go to the steak section and tell the chef how you liked your steak cooked. He basically told people "Hey, it's not free. You have to pay for it." When patrons told him they had paid for it he replied, "then go tell your waitress." Not in a friendly manner but basically in a bullying way. Seemed like we were bothering him while he was at work constantly throwing the F-bomb around for everyone to hear. These conversations also included vulgarity used towards his boss for having him come into work on another day. I only know this because he made sure to say it out loud. This is a person that clearly has no customer service skills or respect for those paying to be at his place of work. Yes this is a long review but I felt it was necessary to relay the fact that this single act of unprofessionalism literally placed a bad taste in our mouths for choosing Golden Corral to have lunch today. I'll definitely return to a different location and hope that our mealtime...
